Job Description
The Senior Accountant, Networks Content Accounting will be a member of the Networks Content Accounting Controllership team based in Warsaw, Poland supporting US Networks. The Networks Content Accounting Team is responsible for assigned networks project creation and contract verifications in Project Systems, preparation of asset transactions - capitalization/amortization/adjustments/transfers/write-offs/retirements, preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet flux analysis explanations as well as SEC Schedules in support of US GAAP financial reporting. This individual will be responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are completed and documented in compliance with established SOX controls.
In this role, you will be a partner to multiple stakeholders, including FP&A/COE, Production and Programming, Business & Legal Affairs, Contract Administration, IT/Project Compass, financial compliance as well as internal and external auditors.
You will work closely with the Manager, Networks Content Accounting in terms of process standardization and application of appropriate accounting policies.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Handle day-to-day content mailbox, project systems and content fixed assets activity
• Prepare month and quarter end close journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, SOX control documentation, SEC schedules and other tasks as requested by management ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met timely and accurately
• Provide support to internal and external audit processes, including walkthroughs, interim and year end testing as requested
• Participate in departmental/division/team meetings, professional development and other business activities and initiatives
Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Understanding of financial accounting principles of US GAAP
• Candidate needs to be fluent in English as all the work will be preformed in this language – written and verbal
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel is a must
• Experience with enterprise information systems, SAP a strong plus and preferred
• Previous experience in accounting for Fixed Assets will be a plus
• Good communication and interpersonal skills particularly with non-Finance personnel
• Results oriented, strong attention to details, accuracy, timeliness, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks is a must
• Status reporting, issue flagging as well as presentation skills of prepared analysis and its implications. Ability to frame issues and articulate findings
