This is a hands-on role where you will personally own and execute core accounting processes - there are no direct reports or people management responsibilities. The position is best suited for someone who enjoys detailed, day-to-day accounting and compliance work, combined with stakeholder collaboration across production and corporate teams.
Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken) is essential, as you will regularly liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and Dutch-speaking production colleagues.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Manage the period-end close process, coordinating with production accountants and external service providers.
• Oversee month-end tasks including intercompany recharges, production accruals, post-production entries and real estate cost centre reconciliations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, providing insights on key movements to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate accounting and tax treatment for provisions, accruals, bonuses, stock options, leases, and fixed assets.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Monitor the performance of outsourced accounting services (SDC), including AR/AP and cash clearing, and manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
• Coordinate with service providers for direct and indirect tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide local reporting inputs for WBD's quarterly and regulatory disclosures and guide corporate finance needs.
• Contribute to finance system upgrades and deployments (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, e-invoicing), ensuring alignment with both US GAAP and relevant local GAAP.
• Own local SAP processes including production interfaces, data integrity, and master data maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Recognised accounting qualification required.
• Fluent Dutch and English, both written and spoken (essential).
• Prior experience managing an audit process is required.
• Advanced Excel skills; mid-level skills for other Microsoft applications.
• Strong experience in:
• Dutch GAAP (required), US GAAP (advantageous)
• Statutory financial statement preparation and Dutch regulatory reporting
• Direct and indirect tax compliance
• Comfortable in a hands-on role with ownership of processes; must enjoy detailed accounting work without team management responsibilities.
• Strong interpretive, judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and exceptionally organised.
• Able to work independently under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Self-starter and team player with strong relationship management skills.
• Experience working with outsourced partners and in multinational matrix organisations preferred.
• Industry experience in production, media, or a client-based sector is desirable.
• Familiarity with enterprise systems (Just Produce/Navision and SAP preferred).
• Background in a professional accounting firm is advantageous.
