Your New Role…
The Senior Accountant, Domestic Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) will be a member of the DTC Accounting Controllership team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Accounting Controllership Team is responsible for monthly and quarterly US GAAP reporting, review of account reconciliations and support for global financial reporting processes. Everyday responsibilities include ensuring compliance during audits, as well as with SEC and SOX guidelines. The Team closely collaborates with other relevant stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Operations, Tax, as well as external vendors. The DTC Accounting Controllership Team is responsible for providing accounting support for the Distribution Revenues and Receivables as well as Marketing spend related to DTC linear networks.
In this role, you will report to the Director of DTC Revenue. You should have a solid understanding of US GAAP allowing you to identify and propose the accounting treatment for complex transactions. You will be a partner to multiple stakeholders, internal and external, you will be a self-starter and should be able to work well without immediate supervision.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Prepare day-to-day, month-end, and quarter-end/year-end accounting/ close activities in the revenue accounting area in compliance with established deadlines
• Perform Direct-to-Consumer revenue related preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation
• Perform account analysis and compile reporting, as required
• Gain and maintain an understanding of Direct-to-Consumer revenue activities
• Perform revenue cut-off procedures as required to ensure revenue is properly and accurately recorded for the period
• Be an active participant in daily, monthly, and quarterly close activities
• Assist with the preparation of SOX controls and related documentation in areas of direct responsibility, as needed.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, as needed
• Cultivate strong internal partnerships within and outside finance at appropriate levels
• Support business and department initiatives
• Comply with the Company's revenue recognition policies and practices
• Complete all work in a timely and accurate manner within established deadlines
• Perform other assignments/projects as required
Qualifications & Experience…
• BS/BA in Accounting and at least 2 year of work experience
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and PC skills
• Ability to execute assigned duties; results oriented
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills; keeps relevant parties informed
• Fosters positive working relationships across the organization at all levels
• Legal right to work in the United States
• CPA or path towards CPA preferred
• SAP and/or Blackline experience
• Media and/or technology experience
• Desire to learn/accept new or unfamiliar tasks
• Ability to work in fast-paced & ever-changing environment under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent situations
