Security Intelligence & Investigations Specialist (GSOC)
Your New Role
The Global Security Intelligence Watch Officer will work in a 24/7 global security operations center (GSOC) and is a critical part of the operational decision-making process. This position is responsible for the collection and interpretation of multi-source domestic and international data in support of our company's personnel worldwide. The Watch Officer will be responsible for monitoring intelligence information (OSINT) for the safety and security of employees, facilities, and property worldwide. Using an assortment of tools from various intelligence sources, open-source media, internet, and in-house tools, the Officer is required to detect, assess, and alert others regarding any adverse conditions affecting the company and its employees. This position requires extreme attention to detail utilizing email, websites, internet-based tools, television, and other sources of media.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Execute all aspects of the day-to-day intelligence functions of the Global Security Operations Center
• Act as initial point of contact for Global Security Intelligence and Investigations to aid all employees, travelers, expatriates, and others contacting the GSOC for assistance
• Responsible for monitoring incoming alerts and researching news for security incidents and events that may impact the company's employees worldwide
• Execute protocols and communicate at all levels across the globe to employees, site security Management, and Global Security Leadership as needed
• Knowledge of current events happening globally. Monitor and respond to global alerts and events effecting company facilities and employees providing immediate information and assistance as needed, and notify leadership of events effecting business operations and employees
• Utilize and execute checklists, protocols, and phone listings to effectively manage global incidents and make applicable notifications
• Monitor travel safety and security of company's employees
• Assist with monitoring intelligence on social media for threats made against company assets and personnel
• Cross-train with local security operations centers to assist and act as a back-up in the event of an emergency situation
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in a relevant course of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years of experience with 1 year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in a command center or intelligence fusion center environment in one or a combination of the following: federal government such as Department of Homeland Security, emergency management, fire or police services, public safety, public health, public administration, urban planning, engineering, military service, or another specialized area related to public or private command center operations.
• Proficiency with standard office computer and web applications (Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be willing to work on a shift schedule (including weekends, holidays, and non-business hours) and have flexible availability. This includes the ability to work an extended schedule during crisis periods and remain on duty until properly relieved.
• Natural curiosity about world events; knowledgeable of world and local events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail
• Ability to operate under stress, multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Equally comfortable working independently or collaboratively on a project, often under compressed timelines
• Ability to work well under pressure and under sometimes ambiguous circumstances
• Knowledgeable of, and comfortable with Twitter, Facebook, and other forms of social media monitoring and intelligence monitoring platforms
• Highly responsive and proactive, able to own tasks from start to finish
