Your New Role

The SAP S/4 Content Accounting VP operates as the Networks and DTC content accounting SAP S/4 Process Lead and performs an integral role in the build and deployment of Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD's) SAP S/4 financial system. This role will perform the content accounting related project-based role as the Content Accounting Process Lead and will act as the single point of contact between the third party system implementation partner, the Content Transformation team in Controllership, PMO, Tech, and business workstreams including key stakeholders in Finance, GBS, Tax, and Controllership.

The SAP S/4 Content Accounting VP provides skilled project management throughout multiple phases of the overall SAP S/4 implementation project and will be expected to lead a team of subject matter experts, as well as consult with other key business contacts, to ensure that design requirements are delivered successfully to meet the underlying business and accounting processes during the system build, testing, deployment and stabilization phases for multiple ERP transitions. Additionally, the VP works closely with the Functional Leads, Global Process Owners (GPOs), and key stakeholders to ensure communication, education and organization design efforts are successful with effectiveness measured via organizational adoption of technology enabled business change.

The successful holder of this position will have a broad background including deep experience in finance/accounting, implementing global process and systems initiatives and organizational change management.

Your Role Accountabilities

SAP S/4 Build Support
• Responsible for leading the review of functional specs with support from workstream stakeholders and Tech to ensure the user stories captured during the design phase are accurately represented prior to build
• Coordination of testing to validate the successful delivery of specific functionality (build packages) per functional specs

Stakeholder Management:
• Support for the maintenance of distribution and key contact lists for communications, testing, training, and other change management activities
• Serve as leader / champion of the ambassador program
• Work with GPOs to identify candidates for the Ambassador program from within the workstream
• Cascade key project updates to peers through formal and informal channels
• Provide peer-to-peer support for project related issues and/or questions
• Publicly support Project Compass among peers and advocate for the transformation
• Serve as the voice of their peers and solicit feedback/escalate issues to the project team

Perform project management duties:
• Monitor and follow up on workstream risks, action items, issues, and decisions and raising awareness to project participants and program leadership as required
• Serve as point person coordinating resources and bringing business awareness to technical teams and technical awareness to business teams allowing for co-management of the project
• Provide effective project reporting and communication throughout the project lifecycle to the PMO, other workstream stakeholders, and executive leadership

Master Data:
• Support and drive the coordination of master data cleansing and profiling across all waves. Responsible for working with dedicated resource(s) and local teams to ensure success.
• Support and coordinate localization efforts with regional teams, where applicable
• Direct the evaluation of underlying accounting processes to align with the end state design and SAP S/4 system requirements.

Communications:
• Support, review, and provide input to communications related to overall program activities as well as specific comms tailored to the workstream

Testing:
• Support Tech in the development of detailed test case scenarios: review test cases, coordinate S/4 Content Accounting team in building test case scenarios based on user stories, etc.
• Identify and support additional users for SIT and UAT, consulting w/ GPOs and Controllers as needed.
• Lead S/4 Content Accounting team in the performance of testing (SIT and UAT as applicable); perform testing if required (expected to be minimal performance).

Training:
• Review training curriculum, confirm topics, provide recommendations for quick reference guides and simulations, as well as assist with defining web-based training requirements to ensure the completeness and effectiveness for end users
• Coordinate review and approval of training materials by GPOs.
• Help to identify candidates for the Train the Trainer program and assist with identifying users for End User Training
• Participate in the Train the Trainer program and deliver End User Training prior to go-live as well as post go-live. Manage the S/4 Content Accounting team in the same.

Hypercare Support:
• Provide post go-live support including identifying post go-live support resources, coordinating with key teams to provide hypercare support, and supporting post go-live surveys, analyses, and mitigation plans as required
Other
• Other duties as may be assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or local equivalent required.
• 12+ years of broad accounting expertise with 8+ years of supervisory responsibilities
• Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing, and maintaining accounting processes
• CPA required
• Strong background in content accounting topics strongly preferred
• Previous experience with large scale finance software implementations including functional requirements, system design, implementation, data migration, testing, training, go-live support, and issue resolution
• Experience defining test scenarios as well as executing functional testing
• Experience providing hypercare support and stabilization through post go-live environments
• Previous experience implementing finance change initiatives with a focus on process improvement, stakeholder management, and organizational readiness preferred but not required
• Demonstrated ability defining business scenarios, processes, and functional requirements
• Deep understanding of the underlying master data used and/or created in the process
• Previous experience providing end user / super-user training
• Exceptional relationship management with the ability to collaborate with remote/virtual teams
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including delivery of project updates to executive leadership
• Ability to travel as required
