Job Description
Your Role Accountabilities

1. Lead and oversee the execution of general accounting controllership duties in selected territories for the DTC EMEA businesses. Oversight responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Proactively leading and/or performing the period-end closing and operational activities in accordance with US GAAP
• Actively support operational activities, including providing month-end BS and P&L trend analysis commentary for Controllership
• Performing periodic Account Reconciliations ensuring completeness and quality of Balance Sheet for selected EMEA entities and group of accounts e.g. Accruals, Prepayments, Payroll, Lease and Fixed Assets
• Follow-up and resolution of any reconciling differences or Intercompany imbalances
• Ensuring all accounting activity is properly documented and supported in accordance with SOX controls and WBD policies
• Assisting with internal and external financial and compliance audits, including SOX
• Ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information as requested by Manager
• Partnering with other Teams e.g. PTP, OTC, Treasury, FP&A, Controllership, FDs, VAT, Payroll, other Record to Report team members and proposing improvements
• Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes
• Cooperate with other DTC EMEA teams in seeking out process improvements and standardization opportunities to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work with other members of the Controllership team to review and resolve any intercompany discrepancies within the group.
• Perform balance sheet reviews and report any findings to the management

2. Engage with key DTC EMEA controllership stakeholders, including FP&A, GBS, COE, DTC Global Process Owners and country specific business unit teams. Ensure a robust understanding of the DTC business in core operating sectors and provide responsive consultation and information as required in key business decisions.

Qualifications and experience:

Required:
• At least 4 years of work experience in an accounting role and a strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, SOX requirements, and relevant local GAAP as required
• Prior work experience in large international company
• BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university
• CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
• Experience performing financial statement analytics and monitoring of key business performance metrics
• Strong technical skills including deep understanding of ERP systems
• Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels
• Embraces change driven by evolving business initiatives and maintains positivity when time-sensitive milestones shift

Desirable:
• Experience of participating in significant periods of change as well as steady state
• Media background
• Experience working with a US based company
• Experience working with outsourced financial functions
