Job Description
The Revenue Accountant DTC is a key position in the accounting team supporting expense accounting for Direct-to-Consumer activity for various businesses within EMEA territories for Warner Bros. Discovery. This person will be responsible for performing accounting activities related to expenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities

1. Perform the revenue accounting function, including:
• timely and accurate recording of revenue transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial statements and reports related to revenue.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations related to revenue recognition, including ASC 606.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and finance, to ensure accurate revenue recognition and billing practices.
• Understand and follow revenue accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal control environment.
• Monitor and analyze revenue trends, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management for process improvements.
• Prepare revenue-related audit schedules and support the annual external audit process.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses related to revenue accounting and financial reporting as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and business partners.
• Key accounting user of SAP BRIM and RAR revenue subledgers. Work closely with revenue assurance team and systems team on data and reporting for revenue activity

2. Engage with key DTC EMEA controllership stakeholders, including FP&A, Tax, GBS, and country specific business unit teams. Ensure understanding of the streaming business in core operating sectors and provide responsive consultation and information as required in key business decisions.

3. Participate and provide input to key system and process integrations in the EMEA controllership area, especially as it relates to the revenue systems changes with the ERP upgrade initiatives.

Requirements:

Work Experience
• At least 3+ years of work experience in an accounting role and a strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX requirements as required

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university
• Master's degree in accounting a plus
• CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred

Knowledge/Skills
• Experience performing financial accounting monitoring of key business performance metrics
• Strong understanding of financial systems with ability to learn and master new system tools
• Experience in automating manual processes
• Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levels
• Experience implementing best practices that require significant innovation for improving processes by applying advanced understanding of complex functional/technical and business issues and challenges
• Embraces change driven by evolving business initiatives and maintains positivity when time-sensitive milestones shift
• Willing and able to travel internationally for occasional business trips

Preferred experience:
• Strong accounting acumen working in a multinational company
• SAP knowledge
• Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Operational accounting experience
• Filmed Entertainment accounting
