Job Description
The RTR Accounting Manager will report to the Executive Director , Studio Controllership and play an integral role in the day-to-day support of the General Ledger Management related to worldwide publishing and licensing operations and agent commission calculation using various systems (Alfred, Oracle, LMSi, SAP, and Tableau) and advanced Excel worksheets. Duties include general ledger stewardship for overall month end closing, publishing accounting, consolidation of actual results and preparation of agent commission statements and analysis, intercompany reconciliation. Prepare, compile, review and respond to audit requests from our Participations Group and Internal and External Auditors including the international statutory audits. This role will also be responsible for working closely and reviewing and providing guidance to our shared services team in India (SDC), OTC, and P2P. There is a great opportunity to incorporate process improvements and standardization of processes and support the Technology Upgrade program in partnership with the Business Unit.

Your Role Accountabilities

Financial Close

Provide support for month end close activities including trial balance review, journal entry adjustments, proper posting of revenues by managing the ingestion of the actual sales into Alfred system, AR aging analysis and other related GL account analysis.
• Analyze and review financials on a global business or process level to ensure a consistent global approach.
• Use independent judgment to prepare journal entries that impact the Company's financial statements.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting rules to properly interpret and determine applicable accounting treatment.
• Ensure GAAP and control are implemented and adhered to for respective BU.
• Support in the strategic direction for the process (e.g., revenue, reserves, reporting, etc.) and help drive forward with execution of standardization and improvements.
• Responsible for establishing and ensuring timeliness of overall monthly close activities and accuracy of close processes.
• Quarterly Deliverables to Consolidation Financial Reporting Team pertaining to Footnotes, Balance Sheet Analysis & Supplementals
• Royalty Accounting related to the Sub-right business: track the collection of statements, ingestion into Alfred, issuance of billing, and posting of the statement into SAP and responsible for proper revenue recognition.

Cross-Group Interaction
• Interact and maintain the highest level of customer service with Business Unit operations and 3rd parties (licensees, auditors, customer, agent vendor, etc.) who rely on the accuracy and timeliness of the information provided.
• Coordinate & review deliverables with SDC team and confirm all items are done in a timely manner meanwhile managing expectations

Third Party Reporting (Agent Commission Statement) & Audit Support
• Prepare agent commission statements that support obligations for third party representation related to: territory, agent commission structure, contract, invoice, payment, and related taxes based on the contractual terms. Review the agent commission statement, reconcile to the invoice provided, and ensure SDC processes the invoice timely.
• Support all constituents performing audit activities surrounding DCE processes (Financial Statement Audits, Statutory Audits, FCRA Audits & Tax Audit-Related requests.

Financial Systems Support & Other System Enhancement Related Activities
• Assist in the enhancements/testing of systems to support the day- to-day transactions of GL management and to improve financial operations.
• Assist with UAT Testing and work closely with BU Global Ops Team
Other Special Projects, Training SDC Team and Ad Hoc Requests
• Provide training to internal and SDC on various topics
• Identify and recommend improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies in the organization.
• Assist in Ad Hoc projects for Senior Management.

Qualifications & Experience
• 6+ years previous work experience in an accounting or finance field.
• 2-3 years prior management experience required.
• Entertainment industry experience a plus.
• Highly motivated, analytical, proactive, take initiative and ownership, and self-sufficient
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with people on all levels, in person, via email or other digital format and on the telephone.
• Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.
• Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively, especially in the multi time zones environment.
• Must have the ability to multi-task projects simultaneously and be able to prioritize.
• Must be able to adapt in a changing environment and quickly learn new concepts, solve problems, and implement solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Must be able to work reasonable overtime, if necessary and work early Burbank, CA Time zone as needed to have more overlap with Indian SDC team.
• Must be able to work on deliverables independently with minimal supervision and provide status updates to supervisor.
• Must be able to provide guidance to the offshore CAPGEMINI team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
• CPA or local equivalent of Certified Accountant preferred
• Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
• Prior RTR accounting experience required
• SAP experience a must as well other ERPs
• Experience using Blackline and Cadency a plus
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PC skills
• Experience in leading collaborative and goal-oriented teams. Ability to deliver results under stressful conditions.
• Solid Experience in reviewing processes and procedures.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to foster positive working relationships across the organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated skills to work with voluminous data files to provide, retrieve, update and analyze financial data. Such skills sets include but not limited to:
