Job Description

Will be responsible for shaping the content strategy and direction for the Factual & Lifestyle Network of Warner Bros.
Discovery and contributing to the overall vision of the network channels. Will manage and direct all aspects of programming
from formulation of strategy & implementation and will lead and manage a team of professionals. Direct individual Channel
programmers to develop and plan winning strategies to maximize programming content, programming strategies and
tactics and input into subsequent effective promotion with Communications, and OAP departments. Ensure smooth
execution of programming strategies via effective supervision of planners & schedulers to maintain and improve day to day
functional efficiencies with a view on competition networks.
Work closely with the research, marketing, advertising sales and distribution departments to ensure that the content
strategy is integrated with other department strategies to maximize revenue opportunities. This role will also be responsible
for break strategy and scheduling of shows to drive high time spent on the network channels. This role will also be
responsible for mentoring team members and create specific roadmaps to drive future growth of each of them team
members.

Planning & Programming strategy 40%
Create content strategy for the entire year for the network channels
Monthly FPC preparation and distribution
Planning and execution of programming stunts throughout the year
Curating from internal and third party catalogues and slates to effectively manage the network curation

Competition Tracking 20%
Keep track of all competitive show launches and performance
Devise counter strategy to compete with major launches on competition channels
Garner Industry news for all future plans of competition channels to devise plans for countering competition

Insight Mining 20%
Demystifying weekly ratings received from BARC
Weekly upgrade of break strategy to counter competition channels and maintaining high time spent for network
channels
Identifying genre need gaps on our channels by analyzing competition data
Regular analysis of the network channels and competition channels

Scheduling responsibilities 5%
Ensuring error free execution of logs for all network channels
Ensuring sales commitments are met consistently throughout the year.

Team Responsibilities 10%

Mentoring and motivating the team members for optimum utilisation of available resources.
Devise individual growth plans for the team members as per their aspirations.
Drive efficiencies within the team by streamlining processes for optimum results.
Driving team members towards proactivity, continuous improvement, customer focus, teamwork, ownership and
excellence in execution.

Stakeholders Management 5%
Maintain excellent relations with internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise effectively with cross functional teams of Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal and Operations for smooth flow of
work.

Essential
1. Experience in Programming, Content Curation, Research, Consulmer Insights
2. Years of experience: at least 12-15 years in Commercial Broadcast/Cable Television (preferable with good experience
in programming / scheduling)
3. Fluent in spoken and written communication
4. General knowledge of Media/News Broadcasting Sales
Desirable
1. Degree or equivalent experience in Media Studies

3. Broad knowledge and experience in television broadcast operations and units within
4. Other: Passion for television and content– both as a viewer and programmer with an appreciation for relevant
