Warner Bros. Discovery's platform technology and product organization sits at the intersection of tech, entertainment, and everyday utility. We are continuously leveraging new technology to build immersive and interactive viewing experiences. Our platform covers a multitude of areas that enable or augment consumer experiences for brands like CNN, Bleacher Report, HBO and more.

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager who takes pride in bringing high-quality code quickly to market, enjoys learning and applying new technologies, and thrives in a dynamic engineering-oriented work environment.

The candidate will lead and manage a team of 4 to 7 developers building and maintaining secure and cost-optimized cloud-native production services and platforms that enable and enhance consumer media products for the Warner Bros. Discovery networks.

These services and products present some challenges to overcome, not only around business complexities but also to achieve high-availability and high-volume scale due to their mission critical nature.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• This position is highly technical. The candidate will be responsible for architecting and solutioning with clients and other technical teams at Warner Bros. Discovery to ensure highest quality and integration points into larger more complex systems, ensuring security, process compliance, governance, monitoring, and alerting within company standards.
• The candidate will be responsible for designing new services and applications, as well as integrating new features to existing applications, setting up automated testing and continuous integration workflows, while setting up team processes and standards to maintain high code quality.
• In this role, the candidate is also responsible for the team management, must be able to resolve conflicts, coach team members, work with team individuals on their career goals and progress, as well as provide individual performance reviews and evaluations
• We prefer using Open-source software to build our products and services and use multiple cloud providers to host our applications for a high degree of redundancy, ensuring systems availability during a catastrophic failure in one of the cloud providers. Therefore, being able to discover and understand new frameworks or system components is a must.

Qualifications & Experience...
• 5+ years of an established track record implementing large-scale, high-quality software applications
• Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel
• Responsible for code/peer reviews and mentoring team members
• Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Solid foundation in troubleshooting application and data issues in a distributed environment
• Ability to fit into an agile development environment and create a positive influence
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• Extensive experience in Python, Java and Node.js required
• Extensive experience working with UNIX based Operating Systems and Container technology required
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) required
• Extensive experience working with Relational Databases like PostgreSQL and Non-Relational Databases like MongoDB, Redis and Memcached required
• Experience with ELK (Elasticsearch – Logstash – Kibana) stack required
• Cloud Compute: Fargate, AWS Lambda, GCF (Google Cloud Functions) and Google App Engine highly preferred
• Databases: DynamoDB highly preferred
• Networking Technologies: Route53 DNS, CloudFront CDN, NGINX highly preferred
• Continuous Integration/Deployment: GitHub Actions, Circle CI highly preferred
• Infrastructure as a Code tools: Terraform or CloudFormation highly preferred
• Visualization Tools: Power BI, Grafana, Datadog highly preferred

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $126,350.00 - $234,650.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
