Your New Role:
Responsible for architecting business applications ecosystem and related infrastructure, plan, direct, and coordinate all activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer business applications and software programs. Provides technical support to cross-functional teams and ensures compliance with departmental and organizational guidelines and standards, such as auditing and security compliance. Develops and implements strategies and initiatives with direct impact on market, departmental, and functional results. Assists department leadership and Human Resources with decisions regarding hiring, promotions, terminations, and compensation.
Your Role Accountabilities:
• Designs, plans, supervises, and coordinates activities related to the development, and maintenance of computer business applications and software programs to ensure the efficient operation of business systems
• Provides leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and
practices, manages methodologies and ensures adherence to established policies
• Designs processes and procedures around application systems development and manages change control
• Develops, and monitors work plans; provides technical support and direction to ensure that application development
is completed in a timely manner and meeting functional requirements
• Manages business relationships and serves as primary liaison between the organization and vendors during application development to ensure functional requirements and organizational standards are met
• Coordinates, assists, and monitors new software and/or hardware installations; evaluates new equipment and systems for current and future purchases and installations
• Supports and develops the design of complex systems integrations
• Research, review studies, organize and oversee POC's to evaluate new applications, programs, technology and vendor solutions, seek input and collaborate with other members of the IT organization to gain consensus on technical strategy and direction
• Build early prototypes of product components and validate them for technical design and performance
• Serve as technical expert and provide mentorship and guidance to support team growth
• Actively participate in department planning, collaborate with peers and maintain current communication up, down
and across the organization.
STRATEGY
• Leads a team of IT systems development employees & consultants
• Set team's objectives, reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures, organizes team meetings to outline assignments, projects and goals, in collaboration with team identifies and resolve problems, identifies opportunities for improvement, initiates and supports resulting changes. Ensures own team receives necessary training and shares
information to keep-up with business requirements and technology demands. Assesses, distributes and monitors workload.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates personnel; provides specific goals for his team members and ensures checks on goals are performed at minimum twice a year, motivates and provides feedback about performance, supports the career development of direct reports, works on correcting deficiencies, may implement discipline and termination procedures.
Qualifications & Experiences:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or Computer Science
• Fluent in English/Spanish
• 6+ years progressively responsible systems architecture, design including at least 2 years of supervisory experience
• Experience in designing and delivering distributed systems
• S olid understanding of security/access control, scalability, high availability and concurrency patterns
• Prior experience in the design and development of relational databases
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, networking)
• Expertise in the following:
a. Data technologies such as MS SQL, Oracle, 4D
b. Service Oriented Architecture
c. REST Web Services
d. .Net framework
e. JavaScript
f. C#
g. VisualStudio
• Knowledgeable in the maintenance of Windows environments
• Flexibility and creativity in solutions design – including emerging technologies
• Ability to correctly interpret and efficiently implement auditing policies and security procedures
• Ability to clearly explain and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a high-demand environment
• Excellent communication and management skills
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Expert user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to prepare all documents, presentations, graphs, briefings,
and worksheets
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• A passion for accuracy and translating insights into a compelling narrative; able to maintain a balance between the details and the larger picture
• Superb relationship building skills
• Work collaboratively w/small teams
Not Required but preferred experience:
• Master's degree in business, computer science or related field
• Experience working in a national or global company
• Comfortable in working in highly iterative and somewhat unstructured environment
