This position will be a direct hire for Warner Bros. Discovery TVN.

Position Summary

The Manager, Legal – Data Protection will be a member of Warner Bros Discovery's global Privacy Office and will focus primarily on supporting Warner Bros Discovery's compliance with data protection law and regulation in Poland, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Poland's Personal Data Protection Act and other applicable data protection laws. The role will assist in managing operations of Warner Bros Discovery's data protection compliance program in Poland, working closely with top level business stakeholders across Warner Bros Discovery's operations in Poland, including the TVN Group companies.

Responsibilities:
• Provide data protection advice and counsel to Warner Bros Discovery's business teams and legal teams in Poland, including all TVN Group companies;
• Support all aspects of Warner Bros Discovery's data protection compliance program in Poland, including for example:
• Data protection due diligence on vendors processing personal data on Warner Bros Discovery's behalf;
• Drafting and negotiating Data Processing Agreements and commercial agreements including references to processing of personal data;
• Acting as a local point of contact for data security incident response;
• Maintenance of personal data records of processing and Legitimate Interests Assessments;
• Providing counsel and advice re Data Subject Rights Requests received by Warner Bros Discovery companies in Poland in accordance with established internal processes;
• Carrying out PIAs and DPIAs relating to new business initiatives involving processing of personal data in cooperation with the appointed DPO;
• Inputting on and ensuring implementation of internal and external-facing privacy notices, consents and opt-out processes;
• Training Warner Bros Discovery staff in Poland on data protection compliance, including specialized training for Privacy Champions in Poland;
• Assist as a local expert with a global mindset on the development of corporate policies, standards and guidelines pertaining to data protection;
• Monitor developments in data protection laws and regulations affecting data protection compliance of Warner Bros Discovery companies in Poland;
• Oversee the administration of technology tools to manage DPIAs, Records of Processing, Data Subject Rights Requests and other privacy program compliance processes.

Qualifications:

Competencies
• Excellent drafting and negotiating skills (in Polish and strong skills in English);
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Polish and English;
• Ability to provide well-reasoned, business-based legal counsel;
• Ability to build trust and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships;
• Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in carrying out activities, and know when to escalate issues;
• Strong people skills, including the ability to communicate effectively through all levels of the organization;
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Collaborative, open approach to working with team members; and
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in cross-functional groups.

Education and Qualifications :
• M or equivalent degree from accredited law school required, valid qualification to practice law in Poland (attorney/attorney trainee) preferred;
• 2+ years of legal experience focused primarily on data protection required;
• Data protection professional certification would be a plus but is not required;
• Strong written and oral fluency in Polish and English required.

Specialized Skills :
• Experience with design, implementation and maintenance of GDPR compliance programs strongly preferred;
• Solid understanding of technologies associated with collection, processing, transfer and storage of personal data, including digital advertising technologies and machine learning, strongly preferred;
• Experience with news and entertainment media and digital content publishing preferred.
