The Marketing Intelligence and Data Products team powers Warner Bros. Discovery's internal Subscriber Growth and Media group. The team manages the data and analytics for all owned & paid media across linear tune-in and streaming outcomes. Data engineering, products, operations, and advanced analytics all sit within the team to streamline collaboration and create agility. We are an in-house data product team working with big data, including streaming analytics, smart tv data and MMPs to measure billions of media impressions weekly. We continually work to enhance the data processing, code, methodologies and products deployed to drive dashboard reporting, multi-touch attribution, media mix models, incrementality, ROI reporting and real-time optimization for streaming and tune-in. Your New Role…

The Manager, Data Engineering will lead end-to-end development of self-service, automated data products to support WBD's marketing analytics, attribution measurement and mix modeling efforts for tune-in, streaming and multi-business unit collaboration across theatricals, gaming, etc. Working with the Director, the position will manage product development from defining requirements to building a scalable code base to implementing final solutions and supporting end users. The Manager will have experience leading large scale projects with cross-functional teams as well as motivating an engineering team to put their skills into action. The candidate must be comfortable moving between engineering, science, analytics and business stakeholders to bridge communication and collaboration.

This is a highly technical role that will engage with data architecture, operations and analytics within Marketing Intelligence. The role will also work with engineering, data science and business teams across WBD and external vendors. The position requires an extensive background in data extraction, processing and analysis. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in utilizing data programming languages (SQL, Python, etc), knowledge of statistical software (R, SAS, etc) and a proven track record with data warehousing solutions, such as Redshift/Snowflake. The role will oversee the translation of business KPIs and data science methodologies into an expanding code base that drives measurable business results.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Lead the development of high-performance/large scale data products to drive WBD media and marketing efforts for tune-in and streaming and collaborate with other WBD divisions
• Maximize WBD's ''marketing data intellectual property'' to create self-serve data-driven products that inform the day-to-day actions of the media and marketing teams
• Drive building, testing and implementation of data models for advanced data products (multi-touch attribution, media mix modeling, forecasting tools, etc)
• Be a technical lead for the team's data environment
• Prototype new data products to drive multi-business unit measurement and global expansion
• Manage the code base and business logic for the products of the team
• Design new ways to make data platform and products more scalable, resilient and reliable
• Oversee a common data design pattern to improve code sustainability and avoid technical debt
• Integrate data science modeling techniques to advance data product features and outcomes
• Sponsor POCs to power experimentation and test new concepts
• Champion engineering excellence and actively drive the design and implementation of Marketing Intellignece's data-engineering infrastructure and peer review process
• Partner with Marketing Intelligence team leads to identify, design and implement internal process improvements
• Build shared knowledge and data best practices to cross-reference for the team
• Coach team members to improve product designs and processes

Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelors and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience working in a large-scale global data warehousing and analytics environment
• Background in digital media, marketing or ad sales disciplines desired
• Advanced expertise in data modeling and data warehousing
• Advanced experience with data programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R) with focus on big data processing
• Strong background of cloud-based data warehousing solutions (AWS Big Data Tools, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.)
• Knowledge of relational and big-data databases (e.g., Redshift, Presto, Snowflake, etc) and an ability to decide, based on the use case, when to use one over the other
• Knowledge of batch and streaming data processing techniques
• Understanding of workflow management platforms (Airflow or similar) is a plus
• Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau is preferred
• Experience in influencing data strategy and product design
• Highly proficient in mathematics, including probability & statistics
• Experience implementing data science and machine learning models into data-driven products
• Experience in delivering self-service analytics solutions that promote data discovery
• Strong competency to navigate through data ambiguity and pivot when necessary
• Capacity to understand business problems, draw conclusions and design data solutions
• Ability to build and nurture strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Capacity to clearly present technical solutions and products to business stakeholders and leaders
• Track record for advancing large task-based projects through completion
• Proven ability to work autonomously and lead a team in a fast-paced agile environment
• Embody a product mindset to discern business needs and develop scalable engineering solutions
• Display strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners
