Your Role...

Working within the Network Scheduling Department and reporting to the Department Manager and Scheduling Supervisor, this position will help lead the Team in their daily responsibilities across our portfolio of TNT, Eurosport, Free-to-Air and Pay-TV in the Nordic and EMEA region. They will help support the Team and be responsible for the presentation scheduling across WBD's portfolio of channels including our Live events.

It involves liaising with the Programme Planning Team, Sport, Commercial Planners and Marketing Departments as well as the in-house Content Operations, Preview and Compliance, Live On-Air Team and Transmission Departments to ensure the delivery of fully optimised, editorially sound and compliant playlists.

The Lead will possess a broad level of knowledge of the scheduling process, system interfaces and business processes and be adaptable and efficient in a pressurised environment. This position acts as a key support to the Supervisors and Manager and as such requires excellent communication skills, good organisational and leadership qualities.

Your Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Supervisor in coaching, team development and training, performance monitoring and recruitment
• Supporting the organisation with team planning including staff cover of holiday and sick absence.
• Assisting Supervisor in leading the team in the day-to-day workflows, including preparing daily programme schedules and ensuring they are accurate for transmission, according to applicable regulations on all channels.
• Supporting the Team in preparing mid-term programme schedules, ensuring these are accurate for press release. Break modelling, optimising on–air time and commercial time in accordance with inventory and marketing strategy, whilst keeping the desired programme start times set out by the Programme Planning Department and ensuring continuity.
• Working closely with Program Planning and Live Teams to ensure all Live events are scheduled correctly, taking production, channel, commercial and regulatory requirements into account.
• Actively supporting Supervisor and Manager in working collaboratively with other Departments such as Planning, Content Ops, On-Air & Ad Sales to ensure their requirements are being fulfilled within the schedules, including following up on any issues related to scheduled materials such as promotions, commercials, sponsorships etc.
• Liaising with Transmission as required regarding on air presentation queries and editorial guidance relating to schedule.
• Working with Supervisors and Lead Schedulers provide advice and guidance on the business workflows, SOPs, presentation systems and processes to the wider team, including the implementation of new processes.
• Promoting and documenting best practice in the scheduling software and business workflows and supporting system testing requirements. Report issues, team trouble shoot and seek out efficiencies in software and workflows.
• Taking part in the On-Call procedure, be the first point of contact in queries regarding the schedules organised via an on-call rota.
• Assisting and supporting cross department with various ad-hoc tasks and project work as required by Supervisor and Manager.
• Representing Network scheduling, professionally at all times.

Requirements:
• Experience in a Pay TV / Free to Air scheduling role. Candidates with experiences considered to be equivalent may be considered.
• Broad presentation scheduling experience within the broadcasting environment including live scheduling. Good understanding of revenue drivers
• Good knowledge of the broadcast scheduling system What's On and/or equivalent and a broad understanding of the end-to-end broadcast process.
• Good knowledge of revenue drivers and broadcast optimisation.
• Knowledge of the European broadcasting market and Legislators such as BLM, CSA, NICAM, Ficora and Ofcom.
• Ability to motivate and support Team development.
• Experience of leading and influencing teams and people.
• Ability to work as part of a wider team and to interpret instructions appropriately.
• Willingness to take responsibility and work on your own initiative.
• Proactive individual with a 'can do' attitude but knows when to escalate issues.
• High level organisation skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
