The purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead Engineer for our Broadcast IT engineering department during live productions as well as provide guidance to team members for the day to day operations to include: Incident response, service requests, diagnose systemic problems, scheduling preventative maintenance, and training. The areas of responsibility are studios, production control rooms, record and playout servers, augmented and virtual reality systems, remote production (REMI), artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies all within a state-of-the-art SMPTE 2110 native facility for linear and OTT streaming services. This position requires proven leadership, organizational processes, technical depth, and operational knowledge. This person is also expected to show flexibility in shift work and maintain an on on-call rotation outside of the production schedule. Occasional travel between WBD sites may be required. The skill set demanded by this position is dynamic and will continue to change rapidly. This individual must demonstrate the ability to accept and adapt to these changes while presenting a willing and positive attitude.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Lead engineer responsible for technical success of WBD live and taped events. On-site Engineeer-in-Charge for all high-Profile broadcast productions such as Bleacher Report's live productions as well as any taped events and all other news, entertainment and sporting events. Oversee and provide guidance to the day to day operations of WarnerMedia Studios BIT Engineering. Provide oversight and guidance to staff to insure the proper technical decisions are being made and departmental responsibilities/procedures are followed accordingly. Constantly evaluate departmental workflow for process improvement and efficiency gains. (50%)
• Staff Knowledge Sharing – Provide technical oversight, coach and mentor staff in regards to technical systems utilized for day-to-day operation and responsibilities. Effectively communicate department directives to staff in a positive and proactive manner. Clearly communicate and enforce departmental guidelines. Maintain accurate staff schedules, ensuring adequate engineering coverage as required. (15%)
• Customer Service – Work closely with our partners to satisfy their needs and requests. Serve as liaison between Engineering Management, staff and customers. Cultivate cooperative relationships between customers and Engineering staff to ensure technical as well as operational readiness. Provide daily reporting related to operational issues and/or Air impacting events. (15%)
• Accountable for development, testing and implementation of new systems, software and equipment. Create and maintain documentation. Maintain follow-up with appropriate parties to ensure resolution. This is to ensure proper time and financial management upon need for systems repair or upgrade. (20%)

Qualifications & Experiences...
• 3+ Years of live event technical operational experience
• 2+ Years television maintenance experience
• Demonstrates leadership and fiscal responsibilities
• Strong understanding of SMPTE 2110 Standards
• Proven background in design and implementation of broadcast facility technology and project management.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS (NOT MANDATORY):
• Knowledge of Intercom Systems used in production envoriments.
• Understanding of Evertz Routing Systems and Magnum Control
• CCNA Certification or Networking background
• Cloud Technologies

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• A four-year engineering degree (or equivalent work experience in Live Broadcast engineering field).

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
• Position requires frequent shifting of hours and days off, as it is driven by event and emergency maintenance requirements. It also provides leadership, coaching and guidance to staff members. Acts as liaison between staff and management.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $95,543.00 - $177,436.00 salary per year.
