Job Description
Your New Role...

General Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Accountant in Madrid to join our growing finance team. This is a new position that will focus on Iberia and LATAM, providing support to the Iberia Accounting Manager. This position will collaborate with a globally diverse team in the region including, US, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Poland and Madrid, to ensure compliance with US GAAP reporting requirements. We will need this person to ensure timely, accurate and effective completion of the closing monthly activities and local compliance requirements in the designated legal entities and will act an active role with the statutory PwC audits.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Assist in the month end accounting and reporting close for Latam and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
• Support for the local taxes activity in the region
• Ensure 100% compliance with Discovery SOX Control requirements and assist with quarterly reporting deliverables to auditors
• Support the cross-legal entities inter-company transactions, including transfer pricing
• Record monthly accounting transactions in SAP and Blackline for the close process in Latam region
• Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations for local accounting ledgers and SAP
• Ensure review and reconciliation of inter-company balances, including reconciliation and clearing of inter-company out of balances
• Assist in the preparation of the statutory financial statements for the local books in the region and support the audit process and relationship with auditors
• Assist with other general accounting ad hoc accounting information requests and projects
• Participate in financial system improvement projects, supporting local finance team

Qualifications & Experience...
• Proven accounting experience in an international company
• Degree in finance, economics, business administration or similar
• Solid SAP experience and knowledge
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
• Fluency in Spanish and English languages
• SOX controls experience preferred
• Proficient in relevant Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Power Point)
• A team player and experience working with globally diverse teams across EMEA and LATAM
• Able to collaborate with stakeholders effectively internally and externally eg internal finance team and auditors, outsourced accountants and other external advisors
• Media / entertainment industry background is a plus
