International Tax Planning Director

Overview:

The Job
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for an experienced US International tax director to join our dynamic tax function. As a multinational media and entertainment business, the director will be involved in complex US international tax issues. This role will focus mainly on developing and implementing US international tax planning, supporting complex business transactions, ad-hoc research and analysis, and providing technical support for certain components of the US federal income tax provision and return related to US international areas.

Responsibilities:

The Daily
• Support the VP of International Tax in developing and implementing international tax planning strategies to minimize U. S. federal and non-U. S. cash tax and effective tax rates.
• Perform U. S. federal income tax research and analysis, including writing technical memos supporting tax positions and preparing PowerPoint presentations.
• Provide technical tax support relating to US (as related to international tax issues) income tax controversies.
• Facilitate analysis relating to complex business transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures) and internal reorganizations to ensure transactions are designed, analyzed and implemented in a tax efficient manner.
• Provide limited assistance reviewing certain components of the U. S. federal income tax provision and return related to international tax aspects.

Qualifications:

The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA and/or JD
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in similar capacity.
• Strong tax technical skills and ability to discuss relevant matters with other members of the tax department and auditors where necessary.
• Good communication skills and proven ability to develop strong professional relationship with internal and external parties.
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent project management skills, MS excel and PowerPoint skills, and tax research skills
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity and accountability
