Position Title: Infrastructure Engineer

Division: Technology and Operations

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Reports to: Infrastructure Manager - APAC East

General Summary:

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager - APAC East, this newly established role will be responsible for day to day operations and infrastructure support at our Warner Bros. Discovery Studio Tour site and corporate offices in Tokyo. You will look after our on-premise network, server and storage infrastructure. Don't worry you're not alone, as part of the APAC Technology and Operations team, you'll be supported by offshore peers and in turn you will also contribute to the support and maintenance of infrastructure and projects at other Warner Brothers. Discovery sites within the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:
• Being the onsite point of contact for infrastructure and operations support.
• Deploying and maintaining server operating systems, including upgrades and patching.
• Building, maintaining and monitoring VMWare ESXi and the underlying server and storage hardware.
• Supporting the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment and escalating to the resolver group where necessary.
• Building strong relationships with other teams and supporting their infrastructure requirements. Ie. Retail technology, Security, Facilities.
• Being responsible for the resolution of level 2-3 issues impacting APAC operations.
• Contributing to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
• Supporting server room and data centre operations such as cabling, patching, rack mounting and monitoring environmental metrics.
• Prioritising duties based on business impact and be flexible to work on ad hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.
• Understanding and adhering to Technology & Operations standards and procedures both in technical and functional areas.
• Contributing to the design of infrastructure and services for the APAC region. Capturing requirements from multiple sources and translating requirements into effective solutions.
• Assisting with the delivery of infrastructure for projects within the APAC region, ensuring projects remain on track and providing technical and operational updates to stakeholders.
• Assisting with the support of infrastructure and services at other sites within the region
• Escalating complex issues and work with offshore peers and specialists to resolve issues and returning services to operation in a timely manner.
• Writing procedures, reports, and support documentation for systems under management.

Qualities Required:
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proven Information Systems experience in a level three/four role.
• Extensive experience in a client/server production environment.
• Comprehensive experience working with and configuring Windows operating systems
• Experience with the development and enforcement of standards, policies and best practices.
• Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written communication and customer service skills.
• Strong sense of pride in resilient and robust infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and assess to determine their priority in complex situations.
• Detailed understanding of the following technologies: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, MS Active Directory, VMware technologies and enterprise Wi-Fi.
• Experience working within an ITIL methodology is desired.
• Preferred experience with some or all of the following OEMs are desired but not required: Cisco (UCS), HPE, Aruba, Juniper, NetApp, Dell EMC (Isilon).
• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Experienced in the essential aspects of the Change Management process including CMDB entry, submitting CHG requests and managing communication.
• Demonstrate understanding of infrastructure framework with strong experience in troubleshooting Active Directory, SCCM and VPN related issues both on a Mac and PC platform.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends if required to complete duties, upgrades, changes or installations that cannot be completed during facility operating hours.
• Perform other duties as needed.
