Your New Role
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Executive Vice President of Global Employment Legal plays a critical role in ensuring Warner Bros. Discovery adheres to and is in compliance with employment laws and regulations, in supporting people and culture, and advising on employment relations matters and investigations. This role will lead a global team of employment attorneys and non-attorney staff and will oversee the direction the team of employment attorneys responsible for providing employment legal advice to domestic and international operating units. In addition, the people relations (employee relations) team which investigates primarily non-production claims will report into this role with a dotted line to the Chief People & Culture Officer. This role is expected to maintain a robust partnership with people and culture in development, implementation, and interpretation of the company's human resources, employment and compliance policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable laws. This role is also expected to serve as a trusted adviser to senior executives at the highest level on Employment matters.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Lead and manage all aspects the Employment Legal group for all operating units and people and culture staff, both domestically and internationally
• Supervise and mentor the Employment Legal group, including attorneys, paralegals, and clerical support staff in their performance of employment law tasks
• Analyze, draft, negotiate, review and revise agreements, policies, and programs that govern employment relationships. Recommend enhancements to the Company's processes for maintaining compliance with federal and state employment laws
• Respond to third-party communications, including demand letters and administrative investigative complaints
• Represent Warner Bros. Discovery in both adversarial (administrative, arbitral and court hearings) and cooperative dispute resolution proceedings
• Oversee the drafting of employment and separation agreements as well as handling any potential litigation, and managing employment litigation matters
• Ensure that employment-related claims are addressed promptly and thoroughly, and resolved in a manner designed to minimize potential liability that still permits operational business goals to be achieved with minimum disruption.
• Provide counsel to leadership on any labor developments and proactively identify any areas that need attention or may require evolution on the Company's behalf
• Develop and implement training workshops on employment law-related topics and provide updates on new or pending laws
• Supervise and/or partner with outside counsel to manage adversarial proceedings in the most effective and cost-effective manner
• Supervise and mentor the People Relations (Employee Relations) group which includes employees responsible for investigating non-production claims
Qualifications & Experience
• 20+ years of relevant experience in labor/employment field and/or law firm required
• Experience as in-house counsel and/or within entertainment industry preferred, but not required
• Bachelor's degree required
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required
• Admission to bar in one state required; Bar membership must be in good standing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; and ability to influence to collaborate effectively are essential
• Ability to conceptualize and articulate practical and creative solutions to meet business needs and legal requirements
• Ability to lead and develop strong, strategic team of employment attorneys
• Ability to spot and analyze complex issues and devise practical strategies and solutions
• Knowledge of law and the legal environment of the entertainment industry sufficient to prepare legal documents, represent the Company in legal proceedings, and advise Company management
• Extensive experience counseling senior executives at the highest level and has a proven ability to become a trusted advisor to them regarding Employment issues
• Must be able to prepare, negotiate, and interpret agreements and other legal documents
• Must be able to research legal questions and be able to clearly articulate and visually present complex legal advice

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $388,570.00 - $721,630.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
