Your New Role…
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is looking for an experienced Employment tax specialist to work with our Compensation & Benefits, Payroll and Global Mobility groups in providing tax support and guidance to our People & Culture (P&C) Human Resources team both in the US and globally.

Issues to be addressed by this expert from a tax perspective include, but are not limited to:
• Employee classification (employee vs. contractor status)
• Payroll Tax (Business travelers, State Tax audits, Tax credits, SUI, Social Security, ''Convenience of Employer'', Form 5500)
• Cross-border work assignments (short-term, commuters, global equity, posted workers)
• Remote work payroll tax considerations across US states and international borders
• Compensation arrangements, including deferred compensation arrangements
• Mergers & Acquisitions as pertains to employment tax issues
• Income inclusions and tax gross-up
• Impact of new employment tax legislation

The role is a new one in WBD. There are no staff assigned to report to this role, but we will assess the need for and cost/benefit of hiring additional staff as we gain experience with this role.

The scope of the role is US and global. The person in the role should be able to spot relevant issues and help resolve them internally in conjunction with P&C, Legal and other internal teams. Where resolution requires further expertise, the person can engage with external advisors to bring resolution to the P&C team.

The role can be based in either New York City or in London. These locations are central to our business and to our P&C and Tax functions.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Receive and resolve employment tax inquiries from P&C team in the US and globally, working with internal team members and external advisors as necessary
• Get familiar with the various compensation/benefit, payroll and global mobility programs; proactively provide guidance/assistance and recommendations on employment tax matters
• Build relationships with P&C team members and business managers in the US and globally
• Review existing employee relationships and compensation plans for tax issues

Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in accounting or related field
• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience as an Employment Tax specialist or in a similar role
• Good communication skills and proven ability to develop strong professional relationships with internal and external parties.
• Experienced in problem solving and ability to make decisions
• High level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability
• Experience and/or exposure to global employment tax matters
• MS Taxation or Law degree preferred
• CPA preferred
• Big 4 Accounting Firm experience preferred
• International work experience preferred

Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $116,060.00 - $215,540.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Salary Details
Salary Range: $116,060 to $215,540 Per Year ($ USD)
