As a key contributor to the WBD DTC Revenue Accounting team you will report into our Senior Revenue Manager supporting the revenue accounting function in WBD EMEA.
The DTC Revenue Accounting Team is responsible for all aspects of DTC revenue accounting for the whole EMEA including standard and non-standard deals at WBD. The goal is to provide services revenue accounting in a effective, holistic and compliant way to meet the needs of our stakeholders including global WBD Management and external WBD stakeholders
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Manage the revenue accounting function, including the timely and accurate recording of revenue transactions, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial statements and reports related to revenue.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations related to revenue recognition, including ASC 606.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and finance, to ensure accurate revenue recognition and billing practices.
• Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal control environment.
• Monitor and analyze revenue trends, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations to senior management for process improvements.
• Prepare revenue-related audit schedules and support the external audit processes.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses related to revenue accounting and financial reporting as needed.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and business partners.
• Manage and mentor a team of revenue accountants, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Engage with key controllership stakeholders, including FP&A, Tax, GBS, and country specific business unit teams.
• Ensure a robust understanding of the streaming business in core operating sectors and provide responsive consultation and information as required in key business decisions.
• Periodically evaluate personnel workload requirements within the team and recommend changes, process improvements as require.
• Lead team with emphasis on continuous improvement in accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate and provide input to key system and process integrations in the controllership area, especially as it relates to the ERP upgrade and other initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience…
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and/or at least 5 - 10 years of revenue accounting experience as supervisor or team lead in international environment.
• Strong problem solving skills is a must
• Seeks guidance on new or unfamiliar tasks
• Experience with large ERP system (SAP preferred),
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PC skills
• Applies fundamental functional/technical and business knowledge typically gained through formal education to deliver assigned work
• Fluent written and spoken English is a must
• Results oriented, strong attention to details, accuracy, timeliness as well as strong organizational skills is a must
• Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent situations
• Ability to work independently as well as working collaboratively with team members across the organization and prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to foster positive working relationships across the organization
• Proven ability to assess new challenges, identify areas for improvements, articulate action plans to management and follow through to implementation.
• Ability to deal with conflicts and present ''can do'' attitude
• Experience in creating financial and other data models a plus
• Must have the legal right to work
