Job Description

Job Summary
• The incumbent will be part of the core Leadership Team of South Asia and be responsible for providing overall leadership and strategic direction to the finance function; He/She plays a key role in partnering with the General Manager and leadership team to drive financial outcomes.
• He/she must be a complete financial executive with a strong understanding of all aspects of the financial function including accounting and control, treasury, internal audit, tax, budgeting, M&A, capital structuring and financial modeling.
• Incumbent must have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented with strong supervisory skills. He/ She should be current with regulations affecting the media industry and effects upon the company. Media industry experience is highly desired.
• Strong ability to leverage financial information to drive performance. Key role partnering with the General Manager and leadership team to drive financial outcomes.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles such as, financial accounting, compliance reporting and budget preparation.
• The ability to lead a team to achieve department and business finance demands with maintaining a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality. The ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet deadlines is fundamental so too is effective time management of workflow in order to meet accounting deadlines.
• Liaising with key stakeholders, auditors and tax consultants.

Job Responsibilities
• Member of South Asia Senior Leadership Team responsible for all local finance related activities across multiple lines of business including a broad portfolio of linear networks and Direct to Consumer products
• Work with the local management team on identifying key business risks and opportunities; drive development of mitigating tactics or mechanisms to amplify growth.
• Support the development of local investment thesis' and assist in managing the delivery of approved cases, ensuring KPI's are met
• On a monthly basis analyze business performance / results, providing feedback to Senior Management. Track and monitor revenue and operating expenses for accuracy. Work with Accounting & COE's to ensure monthly accruals are reflective of business activities
• Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the Finance Department, including commercial operations. Ensure compliance with statutory authority and audit requirements. Ensure all legislative requirements are complied with at all time
• Preparing & implementing systems, policies & procedures to facilitate internal financial controls in the areas of billing, credit & collection.
• Manage and prepare annual finance budgets and strategic plans. Ensure the accurate preparation / reporting of monthly financial results in accordance with Company deadlines. Ensure any variations to budgets and forecasts are explained in management reports, including any future / potential exposures to the organization. Assist in collating relevant information for year statutory accounts. On a monthly basis track and review expenditure against set budgets.
• Active involvement in Corporate Governance.

Candidate Essentials
• Minimum 14 years of finance experience. Media industry experience is highly desired.
• Working exposure on SAP and other Financial ERPs
• MBA / CA (Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) Preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and key accounting principles
• Knowledge of the media industry, dealer network etc.
• Strong understanding of the current regulations affecting the media industry and imapct fo the same on the organisation
