Your New Role…
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a communications and public relations professional with sharp strategic vision and a strong understanding of the media, entertainment and cultural landscape in Mexico, Central America and Colombia.
Your Role Accountabilities…
The Communications Director will be responsible for WBD's Corporate and Internal Communications, Program Publicity strategies for both linear and streaming, Talent Management and Media Relations and Influencers Outreach programs for General Entertainment, Kids and Family, Sports and other areas, leading PR campaigns for local and international properties on a number of projects including but not limited to series, movies, animations and documentaries. The job includes planning and overseeing press days, set visits, premieres and other events, brand experience and activations with strong focus on digital environment; and acting as trust advisor for our C-level executives in those territories.
Main responsibilities
• Serve as trusted advisor and partner to the country manager and the leadership team.
• Write and shape our key corporate communications materials and develop communications plans to support our business areas, such as AdSales, Distribution and Syndication, and our initiatives and efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
• Lead the internal communications program, providing consistent and timely information to employees through various communications tool available.
• Manages and builds relationships with key external contacts and key opinion leaders to generate positive perception of the company's corporate initiatives and business affairs.
• Develop proactive and strategic Public Relations plans and Create engaging content and experiences to build and differentiate WBD brands, IPs and platforms among the target audiences.
• Assure regional alignment on all campaigns to ensure consistency with messaging, objectives, etc.
• Conduct quality control on all communications programs.
• Crisis and issues preparedness and management.
Qualifications & Experience…
• We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial, innovative and business-oriented mindset.
• Strong writing skills, a willingness to learn rapidly and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced culture are key.
• Reporting to the country manager in Mexico and to the Latin America and USH Head Communications,
• Must have a degree in Journalism, Public Relations or related area, with proved 10 to 15 years of experience in entertainment, media, corporate or agency settings. MBA is a plus.
• Candidate must h ave a global mindset and good business acumen, preferably with experience of working for multinational brand s
• M ust also be fluent in Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communications skills. Fluence in Portuguese is a plus.
• Candidate must be based in Mexico City.
