The Data & Analytics organization is at the forefront of developing and maintaining frameworks, tools, and data products vital to WBD, including flagship streaming product Max and non-streaming products such as Films Group, Sports, News and overall WBD eco-system.  Our mission is to foster unified analytics and drive data-driven use cases by leveraging a robust multi-tenant platform and semantic layer. This team will support studios, sports, news and corporate as well.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• As a Data Engineer - II here you are passionate about using software-based approaches to solve complex data-driven challenges and automate those solutions.
• Within our organization, you'll lead efforts aimed at scaling our existing data offerings and establish the technical strategy for how we can better equip engineers and leaders with Data Platform.
• You'll build a deep understanding of our digital streaming service and use that knowledge, coupled with your engineering, infrastructure, data, and cloud knowledge, to optimize and evolve how we understand our technical ecosystem.
• To be successful, you'll need to be deeply technical and capable of holding your own with other strong peers. You possess excellent collaboration and diplomacy skills.
• You have experience practicing infrastructure-as-code, data lake management, AI/ML Knowledge, and Analytics. In addition, you'll have strong systems knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.

What to Bring:
• Build data pipelines across our entire cutting-edge data platform, including event driven and batch data processing, storage, and serving through various data integration techniques such as APIs, Lambda, File Feeds etc.
• Work closely with data architects, stream processing specialists, API developers, our DevOps team, and analysts to design systems which can scale elastically.
• Work closely with data analysts and business stake holders to make data easily accessible and understandable to them.
• Ensure data quality by implementing re-usable data quality frameworks.
• Work closely with various other data engineering teams to roll out new capabilities.
• Work closely with AI/ML team to operationalize and utilize models for business needs.
• Develop and enforce data engineering, security, data quality standards through automation.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar discipline.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in software and data engineering
• Ability and willingness to learn any modern technologies and apply them at work to stay ahead of the curve.
• Expertise in at least a few programming languages - Java, Scala, Python or similar.
• Expertise in building and managing large volume data processing (both streaming and batch) platform is a must.
• Expertise with cloud data warehouses, such as Databricks, Snowflake or Redshift.
• Expertise in SQL, Spark SQL, Hive etc.
Expertise in stream processing systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, Pulsar or Similar
• Expertise in building micro services and managing containerized deployments, preferably using Kubernetes.
• Expertise in distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Flink or Similar.
• Cloud (AWS) experience is preferred.
• Experience with Terraform, GitActions is plus.
