Your New Role
This position supports the Group Vice President, Legal, Employment in providing legal advice, for domestic and/or international operating units, in a manner that minimizes potential legal liability resulting from employment decisions, while still permitting operational business goals to be achieved with minimum disruption. Functions as a partner with stakeholders from People & Culture, Legal Affairs, Compliance, Communications, among others, to resolve claims and litigation matters, oversee internal investigations, and develop, implement and interpret company policies, procedures and programs in accordance with applicable laws. Must be able to work from the company's Burbank-based offices in accordance with company policy.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Serves as an employment law resource available to other employment law personnel, operating executives, People & Culture, and other stakeholders, both within the United States and internationally.
• Researches and responds (both verbally and in writing) to inquiries from company personnel regarding employment law issues of every type, including EEO matters, employee discipline, leaves of absence and other accommodations, reorganizations and reductions in force, wage and hour issues, and business ethics issues. Analyzes, drafts, negotiates, reviews and revises agreements, policies and programs that govern company policies, employment and contingent worker relationships. Develops and presents training workshops on employment law matters.
• Ensures that employment-related claims are addressed promptly and thoroughly, and resolved in a manner designed to minimize potential liability including responding to third-party communications, demand letters and administrative investigative complaints.
• Represents the Warner Bros. Discovery group companies in both adversarial (administrative, arbitral and court hearings) and cooperative dispute resolution proceedings and supervises and/or partners with outside counsel to manage adversarial proceedings in the most effective and cost-effective manner.
• Supervises and/or partners with People & Culture personnel and internal investigatory personnel to manage internal investigations to ensure a thorough and prompt process.
• Supervises and/or partners with other members of employment law group, including paralegals and clerical support staff in their performance of legal-related tasks.
• Handles any other employment legal tasks or projects, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 3+ years in labor/employment field, with major law firm experience required.
• Litigation experience required; trial experience preferred.
• Experience as in-house counsel and/or within entertainment industry preferred, but not required.
• Undergraduate degree is required.
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school is required.
• Admission to the California State Bar in good standing or willingness and qualification to be registered in-house counsel.
• Knowledge of law and the legal environment of the entertainment industry sufficient to prepare legal documents, represent the company in legal proceedings and advise company management.
• Must be able to prepare, negotiate and interpret agreements and other legal documents.
• Must be able to research legal questions and to provide clear, practical and well-reasoned written and oral advice; must be able to write in a well-organized, concise and precise manner.
• Must be able to supervise and evaluate paralegal and clerical subordinates engaged in the performance of law-related tasks.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully, in person, in writing, by telephone and electronically.
• Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively.
• Must be agile, proactive, highly motivated and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work well under time constraints.
• Must be able to handle high volume of work with minimal supervision, including assessing risk and making decisions.
• Must be able to function well as a member of a team.
• Must be able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with staff and executives at all levels.
• Must be able to work from the company's Burbank-based offices in accordance with company policy.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $109,900.00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
