Citrix Virtual Application Delivery Engineer

Job Description

OVERVIEW:
At WBD, Citrix (CVAD and related technologies) and the VDI team are a combined team are used to provide internal users and third parties access to business-critical tools.
A successful applicant will actively engage in reshaping and refactoring of all Citrix systems and Omnissa Horizon VDI at WBD.
Increasing adoption of Citrix cloud for management and access purposes.
Simultaneously consolidate and expand Citrix sites.
Migrate applications off obsolete OSes and domains to new instances.
A significant redesign of the NetScaler environments.
Extending the Ansible Automation Platform to further automate tasks.
The above efforts are to right-size, reduce costs, reduce complexity and modernize the Citrix platform at WBD.
THE DAILY:
• Dealing with break/fix incidents as raised through internal support tools - 10%
• Adding, updating and deploying applications hosted in the Citrix platform - 25%
• Enhancing the estate Citrix - 35%
• As and when required joining incident, team, project and departmental meetings - 20%
• Writing and updating documentation plus support plans - 10%
THE ESSENTIALS:
• 5+ years' experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps, Storefront, NetScaler, Windows Server
• 5+ years' performing technical user support in a business environment
• 5+ years' experience supporting Windows based applications
• 3+ years supporting Windows OS devices running on cloud, preferably AWS EC2
• Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP etc.
• Previous experience working with Omnissa Horizon is strong preferred, however, if no experience WILL be expected to learn it
NICE TO HAVES:
• Familiarity with automation tool Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform including EDA and Kafka
• Scripting experience with Ruby and PowerShell
• Familiar with database technology such as Oracle and SQL Server
