Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a mixture of business acumen, communications, and analysis skills. This role will work on the development, implementation and adoption of large semantic data models. He or she will be responsible for establishing relationships with internal stakeholders and be able to transform business data requirements and specifications into data models and BI technical solutions.
Your Role Accountabilities:
• Semantic Model Expertise: Support the design, development and implementation of centralized semantic models used by BI tools across the company.
• Continuous improvement of data Models: Implementation of best practices, adoption of data governance and identification areas of continuous improvement for current data models.
• Communication Skills: The ability to communicate technical information clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Business Intelligence: A general knowledge of BI tools and concepts and how to apply them as part of a technical solution for the business.
• Problem Solving and troubleshooting: Capacity to identify and resolve complex problems on existing systems.
• Stakeholder management: Build long-term, strategic relationships with stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather feedback and insight on scalability and reusability of semantic models.
• Team collaboration: Partner with data governance, data engineering, and analytics teams to ensure data quality, security, and accessibility within the semantic models.
• Self-Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging BI tools to continuously evolve the semantic strategy in support of business growth and innovation.

Qualifications & Experiences:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, systems engineering, computer science or a related field.
• 3-5 years p roven experience in B usiness I ntelligence or D ata E ngineering.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI (DAX, Power Query and Semantic models). Knowledge of other BI Tools (Tableau, Looker, SAP BO or QlikView) is a plus.
• Strong analy tical skills .
