Job Description
Your New Role...

The Broadcast Operations Manager leads the day-to-day operations in Master Control including oversight of 24/7 global broadcast origination of over 250 channels, ensuring high reliability uptime, performance management of processes and procedures, and customer service excellence for partners and clients. Those in this role are expected to lead by example and inspire others with their behavior to both encourage teamwork amongst the Operations staff, and drive employee development by giving timely feedback and change management implementation.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Oversee activities of Master Control including management of personnel broadcast schedules, issue and discrepancy reporting, and on-air disaster recovery
• Supervise 4-5 employees directly, up to 15 employees indirectly (as Manager on Duty)
• Ensure that established SOPs and department policies are followed
• Develop/implement prescribed employee work schedules and address absenteeism, illness, and tardiness daily
• Coach and develop the skills of direct reports; coordinate suitable training, provide direction to staff, including constructive and positive feedback to support personal development and ongoing improvement; conduct annual performance assessments
• Work with your direct reports to determine next steps in their career path within Warner Bros. Discovery
• Maintain an inclusive environment by keeping all staff informed of all initiatives, relevant information, and facility protocols
• Provide Senior Managers and Directors of Broadcast Operations with timely and accurate information regarding headcount and staffing. Participate in new hire searches and interviews as required
• Take ownership and corrective action for all issues within Master Control, including errors made by the Master Control team
• Analyze and document operational abnormalities; provide Senior Managers and Directors of Broadcast Operations with timely and accurate information
• Coordinate actions during system maintenance and coordinate on-air recovery during operational emergencies
• Coordinate Operations and Engineering staff, during building and weather-related emergencies
• On call 24x7
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experiences...
• Experience in a multi-channel Master Control/Broadcast Operations environment preferred
• Must be able to handle high pressure multi-tasking situations
• Must have strong leadership abilities and the willingness to lead by example
• Must be technically literate with the ability to understand broadcast technology including automation and monitoring tools
• Computer proficiency, strong verbal and written skills are required
• Bilingual skills are a plus (Latin America, Europe, Asia)
• Experience with live events is a plus
• Must be flexible to support scheduling for 24/7 broadcast operations including holidays, overnights, and weekends.
• This position is considered an essential role. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, pandemics, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position are expected to report to work to support business continuity, unless otherwise instructed by their direct manager.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
