Your New Role…

The Associate Director will be one of key accounting leaders in the APAC DTC and Network Controllership Team and should plan, direct and coordinate Record to Report Accounting Functions, as well as any relevant operational accounting requirements, for (a group of countries within) the EMEA and US regions for Warner Bros. Discovery Networks and DTC business lines. This position will lead an accounting team of around 30+ experienced employees located in Hyderabad. The Accounting Associate Director will report directly to the APAC Networks & DTC Controller and Sr. Director.

This Associate Director will be responsible for Record to Report function of multiple legal entities, support the day-to-day accounting and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet. The Associate Director will work with the team to ensure accuracy of journal entries for accruals and manual ad hoc entries, monthly and quarterly variance explanations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing internal and external reporting schedules. The Associate Director will ensure all deliverables are completed timely, accurately, and will sign off on necessary close and control requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and a high level of professionalism and accountability to communicate financial information to Finance and Operational partners at all levels throughout the company. The ideal candidate should be a strong leader supporting the team in everyday activities as well as acting as mentor and promoter, having tangible impact on your team's development. The Associate Director will be a partner to multiple stakeholders, internal and external.

Standard working hours for this role will be from 11:00am – 8:00pm (local time). However, during the transition period of shifting work from US or EMEA locations, additional efforts may be required to ensure overlap of India and US time zone.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Be a hands-on leader managing a team comprised of varying experience levels, including their day-to-day activities, deliverables, issue management, as well as holidays and career path.
• Oversee the month end close process to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Review and approve the team's work product to ensure compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP/regulatory requirements where applicable, and Company policies and internal controls. Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
• Drive and manage improvements and develop automation of daily/monthly standard tasks accounting processes and workflows.
• Lead special projects and proactively develop accurate ad hoc analyses for management to make informed decisions. Assisting in the system implementation of SAP S/4HANA and redesign processes that are currently performed in Peoplesoft and any other accounting system implementation/transition projects. Review and maintain accounting process documentation.
• Lead cross department meetings, document and track action items. Propose solutions. Escalate issues as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience…
• Chartered Accountant / CPA with at least 10 years of accounting/auditing experience in international environment.
• Minimum 3-4 years of documented experience in a supervisory/leadership role of an experienced team.
• Public accounting experience (e.g., Big 4) as well as knowledge of media / entertainment industry are considered an advantage.
• Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS is a must. Practical end-to-end understanding of reporting impact of accounted transactions is necessary to succeed in this role.
• Results oriented, strong attention to details, accuracy, timeliness, ability to multi-task and prioritize both your individual and your team tasks is a must.
• Presentation skills, status reporting, issue flagging, public speaking and exposition of prepared analysis and its implications. Ability to frame issues and articulate findings, areas for improvements and propose solutions. Communication skills with executive level are necessary.
• High integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organization.
