This position will manage a team of sales strategists, planners, product specialists, and creatives to understand our clients' marketing needs and to leverage Warner Bros. Discovery's unique assets - brand, content, and creative Discovery's unique brand, content and creative assets to develop creative solutions that meet the client's domestic and international marketing KPIs. As Chief Planner, you will develop and productize existing platforms and inventory with unique creative solutions. As a business creative, meet and match client needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
• Maximize revenue, profitability, market expansion and new client acquisition through creative solutions and media strategy and merchandising.
• Manage a team of planners, specialists and creatives to develop flagship products for clients and coordinate product Follow through with development, creative and delivery.
• Must be able to partner internally with leadership teams in Japan, Asia region and globally to drive 360 degree business development: TV, Digital, Japan, Global, Social Media, Experiential, etc., with Warner Bros. Leverage Discovery's unique proposition. Build cross-functional collaborations within the organization.
• Clear and contagious passion for the product and understanding of client needs - Voraciously gather data on products and services.
• Strategically and effectively lead and motivate the team to maximize results. Manage and mentor teams as well as individual development to ensure high performance as a sales team.
• Monitor and manage budgets to maximize revenue and profit.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• 10-15+ years of advertising planning and creative solutions experience in advertising, media & entertainment (digital and broadcast).
• Provide 360 degree solutions around content rather than selling media.
• Proven track record of driving innovative and impactful solution sales and achieving growth in a challenging market.
• High energy and positive attitude
• Exceptional leadership and management skills, ability to build team, cross-functional, collaborative win-win relationships.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Japanese market.
• Commercial acumen and budget management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with people from all disciplines and cultures, manage teams, and demonstrate excellent people skills.
• Ability to pay attention to detail while understanding the big picture.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English and Japanese.
• Credibility to influence, not only in Japan but also globally, with a global perspective and experience.
• Continuously reviewing the shape and skills within the team to balance the team in changing times and beyond.
