Your New Role…
This position will assist the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing the Global Real Estate and Lease accounting process and managing a team of five professionals who provide full-service accounting and reporting related to leased and own properties across the Turner (Domestic and International), HBO, Warner Bros. and Warner Media real estate portfolio. This position reviews complex leases and contracts to evaluate the proper accounting treatment within the new lease accounting guidelines under ASC 842. The team, including two accounting professionals in ABS Argentina, is responsible for all monthly processes and controls related to Facilities Expenses (rent, utilities, subtenant billing, property taxes, asset retirement obligations, amortization of prepaid occupancy expenses, etc.) and accounting for long term operating and finance leases (creation, monthly JE, reconciliation, footnote/disclosure, etc.) . This role will also review monthly/quarterly P&L actuals vs forecast and balance sheet flux variance explanations. The role requires an understanding of forecast, recurring expenses, and the ability to communicate both financial and non-financial information to finance and operational partners throughout the company.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Manage accounting functions: maintaining the general ledger, journal entry processing, account reconciliations, analysis, certifications and intercompany accounting
• Oversee the month end close process to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness
• Review and approve work product to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies
• Review complex entries and supporting documentation
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Lead special projects and proactively develop accurate ad hoc analyses for management to make informed decisions
• Research complex accounting issues and recommend proper accounting treatment on these transactions. Responsible for ensuring proper internal controls are in place and all transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP and established SOX requirements and procedures

• Build, foster, and maintain good working relationships with members of the Accounting Business Services and stakeholders.
• Assist with team administration: feedback, development, training, assessment

Qualifications & Experience…
• 2+ years of experience in leading teams and/or projects
• PeopleSoft Financials, Hyperion, or any ERP systems
• 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years in relevant accounting experience (industry or public)
• Masters degree and/or CPA
• Real estate and/or lease accounting experience preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to articulate key information preferred
• Self-motivated and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines preferred
• High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation preferred
• Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities preferred
• Detail-oriented and high energy preferred
• Blend of both public and industry experience preferred
• Media industry experience preferred
