Writer/Producer, Video (Temporary), SB Nation

SB Nation is looking for an experienced writer and researcher to join the team at Secret Base, a community built with an eye on sports-focused storytelling.

WHO WE ARE

Since its launch in August 2020, Secret Base has provided viewers with an in-depth look at moments in sports history, exploring the details that made all of us as fans care about the stories in the first place. Our primary mission is to tell stories that just happen to be about sports. In this video editor role, you will work closely with the producers, directors, motion graphics artists - basically the entire Secret Base crew - to craft and evolve the production of high-quality documentaries built for the web.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Pitch, research, and write episodes of established shows (Rewinder, Beef History, Prism)
• Build side-by-side scripts with assets for collaboration with the director/editor or motion graphics artist working on the producer's videos
• Collaborate with other scriptwriters to review scripts or video edits and provide feedback ahead of recording or publishing
• Record voiceover of your own scripts
• Prepare videos for publication (collaborating with other members of the video team on titles/thumbnails, uploading assets, and preparing YouTube posts)
• Work with the social team to plan video distribution across platforms
• Regularly pitch new episodes of existing shows
• Practice fair use and editorialization with any unlicensed media and work with the legal team to get clearance on all video

You are someone who is passionate about telling stories. You want to explore inventive, original storytelling styles and work within a team focused on making the best video sports content on the internet. You appreciate the benefits of collaboration. You are excited to use your original voice, both in the scripting and voiceover process, to inform and entertain a devoted audience. You're passionate - whether that's about sports, hobbies, the world, anything.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

This job is remote. PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range

$78,000 — $93,000 USD
