VOX MEDIA is seeking a talented, seasoned, quick-to-learn Director-Level Creative Strategist, to join Vox Creative, working across the entirety of Vox Media's networks including Vox, New York Magazine, Thrillist, PopSugar, NowThis, The Dodo, Eater, The Cut, The Verge, Polygon, SB Nation and Vulture. The Senior Strategist will be responsible for supporting incoming RFPs alongside the Creative Strategy team for the expanse of the brand portfolio, across all advertising categories. They will be expected to drive overall creative campaign narratives (from program titles, to cultural insights, to big ideas) that expand across all content formats offered across the company (video, social, editorial, experiential and beyond).

This candidate will work closely with the sales, marketing, production, development, design, written, and cross-functional teams to achieve creative goals for our brands and advertisers across projects in pre-sale. *this role is not responsible for production or execution

We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate strategist with in-depth experience in copywriting, 360 branded content, and the RFP-based media industry. This candidate should be a highly creative individual who can successfully concept, communicate, and scope campaigns throughout the entirety of the pre-sale process.
**This is a seasonal contract position that will begin working alongside the Creative Strategy Team, under the direct supervision of the Senior Creative Director, and continue working with the team through the Creative Directors maternity leave. This role is anticipated to be a 5 month appointment, but could be extended based on business needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Create 360 programs across the brand portfolio, for a multitude of advertisers (and present to clients as needed)
• Brief internal teams on the creative vision for every project
• Collaborate with Integrated Marketing and Creative Development on strategic thinking and planning for key accounts
• Utilize Vox Media data (from our Insights and research team) and cultural insights from competitors, to create unconventional content ideas and strategies
• Develop a broad understanding of all Vox Brands: assets, platforms, products, capabilities and offerings

Required Skills
• Creative Writing: From a 360 campaign idea to a video treatment to writing pithy copy for a product, event, app, or other marketing initiative, you're an agile creative writer.
• Content Development: You're a media-agnostic creative who can ideate in terms of integrated advertising campaigns, short and long form content, experiential/events, product design, outdoor/digital installations, and any and everything else. The world is truly your canvas.
• Competitive, Trend Hunting (Social) & Storytelling: Your social chops are on point - your friends turn to you for the latest and greatest of what's happening on the Internet and every existing and emerging platform.
• Innovation: You can think beyond content to break the mold and blur the lines between advertising, content, technology, interactive experiences… and beyond.
• Insights Analysis: You're a creative and a strategist. You understand the value of insights and you can leverage these insights to create a unique story across any format.

WHO YOU ARE
• 8+ years copywriting/creative strategy experience. Advertising/Brand, Branded Content, or Editorial writing experience, with a portfolio to share. Mix of publisher and brand/agency experience is a plus.
• Experience in working in collaborative sales processes, including the interaction required in an advertising sales environment
• Proven and tested ability to juggle multiple projects, deal with multiple personalities, and maintain a positive attitude through it all
• Strong understanding of how to translate the long-term business objectives of advertisers into solutions that could be provided by Vox
• Have the ability to evangelize Creative Strategy to internal stakeholders and clients

This job is remote. PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range

$120,000 — $150,000 USD
