WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Help execute Eater's off-platform strategy with the goal of growing our channels, establishing our voice, and making our flagship social accounts the liveliest and most engaging places for our audiences to encounter our work.
• Package and translate our journalism to feel native to the platforms on which they are published without sacrificing editorial voice and integrity.
• Manage social media editors focused on creating off-platform content
• Oversee our social-first video strategy, from production to distribution
• Partner with our Network Development team to execute social sponsorships
• Use analytics to track and analyze data to help inform platform strategy
• Be the go-to off-platform expert at Eater.

WHO YOU ARE
• 4+ years of experience working in social media in journalism (food or news media preferred)
• Proven experience growing social media accounts (Instagram is a must, Twitter, Tiktok, and Facebook are also nice-to-haves)
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Social video production, post-production and distrubution experience
• Strong understanding of a great headline and what makes people click, share, or engage
• A voracious desire to keep up with internet culture and pop culture in general
• Knowledge of, or curiosity about the food and restaurant industry - and the motivation to learn more
• A deep understanding and passion for the topics we cover at Eater
• A strong visual eye
• Excitement for how social media can push journalism forward
• Proficiency in Adobe apps (Photoshop, Premiere)

Bonus points for:
• People management experience
• AirTable experience
• Data analysis skills (Google Analytics, Parsely)
• Design skills

This job is remote. We're dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all of our employees, and when we reopen, will require everyone who works from one of our offices to be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19. PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

Pay Range

$88,000 — $95,000 USD
