The Product & Engineering department is responsible for all of VMG's products, both consumer facing, like the VICE.com or Refinery29.com platforms, and internal operations and content creation tools, like our proprietary CMS 'Backstage', 'Stories Studio' o ur proprietary social stories production app for editors, and more.

Role x You

VICE is looking for an enthusiastic and detail - oriented Technical Project Manager to join the Product & Engineering department in our Amsterdam (NL) office. You will be par t of the Product Operations team, in which you will support the Senior Tech Project Manager covering CMS, API and Commercial products. Our ideal Technical Project Manager is the organizational backbone of the team with a passion for continuous improvement . She/he will partner with product owners, designers/UX, engineers, tech leads, QA and other business stakeholders to help plan, manage and execute timely project launches and product iteration.

In the short term you will support the Senior Technical Pr oject Manager with their daily tasks and team blockers, get up to speed with our tools, structure and ways of working, get to know the team and start leading the sprint ceremonies.

But after 6 months in this role you are able to confidently lead the sprintceremonies, gain a better understanding on how to resolve most blockers, keep the key stakeholders updated on the project's progress and start to manage your own projects under supervision of the Sr. Technical Project Manager.And after a year you are abl e to confidently resolve team blockers and are able to confidently manage your own projects. You will strive towards increased team efficiency and start discovering how best to achieve this.

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the sprint ceremonies and related tasks.
• Start with supporting the Sr. Technical Project Manager on all projects and take more and more
ownership of some of the projects yourself.
• Project tracking, supporting releases, resolving blockers, project - r elated meetings and following up on action items.
• Working together with the Sr. Technical Project Manager with coaching the team and individuals in making the best possible decisions given the information available.
• Striving toward increased team efficienc y and coaching the team to get the most out of self - organization.
• Gain and continue to develop good understanding of agile software development practice
• Ensure that project schedules and team milestones are well documented.
• Coordinate with Product Manager s, Designers, Engineers & other stakeholders
• Be deeply embedded in your team and their work, you will strive to ensure the team feels connected with their mission and product What we are looking for:
• 2+ years of experience working in technology and/or at a digital media company.
• 1+ years of working experience in a scrum master role (or as Technical Project Manager) with an agile team.
• Good understanding of software development and documentation tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Github. In depth experience with JIRA is a major plus.
• Affinity with CMS (or similar) and API technologies and the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
• Adept in a fast - paced environment while juggling many projects at one time.
• Excellent communication skills, organizat ional skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Enthusiasm for collaboration required and a good sense of humor appreciated!
