Role x You

As Video Producer, VICE World News you'll be responsible for managing the production of social first video content for our international news brand, ensuring that we're making the most engaging shortform video for audiences across Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok.

You'll work in a multi-disciplinary environment consisting of video producers, motion graphics and social media producers, and you'll have a strong editorial sense for shortform storytelling and visual communication that resonates with audiences directly on these platforms.

Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with key leadership and stakeholders to inform and define the overall content strategy for original video content to be published across Snapchat Discover, Instagram Stories and TikTok for Vice World News.
• Oversee and manage the daily production of original social video content across social channels, leading a small team to deliver against monthly content output requirements.
• Lead weekly programming and brainstorming sessions to help develop a social video production slate, working with Social Producers to cultivate new and existing ideas and instill a culture of constructive feedback to raise the quality of our output.
• Manage an annual budget, freelance contracts, and liaise with R&C & Legal for projects where necessary to ensure compliance across all productions.
• Work with video producers, social editors and editorial teams to produce video stories and capture live news reporting to distribute across our social channels.
• Work closely with an editor on best practices for mobile storytelling to push the boundaries of how the content is edited to best fit vertical audiences for Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram.
• Use performance insights to analyse the performance of output to drive content programming decisions and improve the quality of work.
• Constantly seek areas to innovate Vice World News' output through new tech such as AR and lenses on Snapchat, live video on Instagram and Snapchat Shows.
• Attend meetings with partner contacts at Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok when required.

Requirements
• Strong understanding of the Vice World News brand and its tone of voice and style.
• Previous experience of producing original video content, ideally within a digital news environment
• Strong knowledge of Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok and an understanding of the types of content that resonates with audiences on these platforms.
• A strong communicator who can cultivate and manage relationships with team members from around the world.
• Strong visual skills. Ability to think visually and socially about what will entice audiences to engage with content and provide consistent new ideas and concepts for great content.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Experience in working with project management tools
• Experience using digital analytics platforms.
