Production Accountant

Job Description

The Production Accountant position is part of a very busy production team in need of accounting support. The role is for an ambitious candidate looking to further their career within a global media organization overseeing accounting for production. You will be the connection between the accounting team, production teams and global finance.

VICE Jax is a partnership between VICE and a large Middle East media partner. VICE Jax's primary directive is to create a leading platform for quality digital Arabic content centered on modern Arab youth culture anchored in Saudi Arabia. The expectation of this role and others connected with VICE Jax is that you will work on VICE JAX project as well as other VICE Media lines of business including VICE and Virtue (VICE's creative agency) projects throughout the Middle East and Africa.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create budget templates and cost reporting tools to simplify work load for all Heads of Departments and sense check for information flow into the account report system.
• Create and run master project budgets and cost reporting systems.
• Ensure our internal margin is protected and consistent.
• Work with our production and all other teams to sense check budgets.
• Work with the Head of Production to input accounting cost reports into all production cost managers.
• Keep an eye on all projects and ensure they're on track.
• Look for ways to better serve the needs of clear and precise accounting for production.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be IT literate with strong working knowledge of Excel, SAP or Netsuite and ideally project management/budgeting software. You will be hardworking; methodical with a 'can do' attitude and be flexible at busy periods.
• Must be a fluent in Arabic and English.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Accounting and production finance/management background.
• Candidate will have managed budgets in excess of 1M ideally for TV or big events and worked on behalf of the company in protecting its financial position.
• Confident, outgoing, able to handle often tricky situations with a lot of change push back.
• Proactive approach to managing own workload and seeking out improvements to business efficiencies.
• Able to deal with all levels of staff and be a team player, with a willingness to pick up new duties as and when required.
• Possess strong and demonstrable Excel and systems skills.
• Must be ultra-organised, a multi-tasker and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Be able to work calmly under pressure and without constant supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail.

LOCATION
** Temporary location for this role can be between UAE and KSA but the candidate will eventually be expected to be located in Riyadh where VICE's Arabia HQ will be located.
