Munchies Writer, Affiliate

Role x You:

Vice Media Group is in search of a creative and business-minded writer to help grow VMG's commerce content business. The Affiliate Content Producer/Writer will write entertaining, highly-researched, useful shoppable content and help set the tone and direction of how we speak to our audience about the goods & services that are worthy of taking up space in their lives. They will also produce content (video, stories, etc.) across our social platforms, driving affiliate products. Our ideal candidate is a curious, clever service-driven writer who has a passion for and confidence in sussing out the good buys on the world wide web.

In the short term…
• Conceive, report, and write affiliate shopping-related articles on a daily basis (original content, first-person reviews, trending pieces, optimization and updates on existing content)
• Cover the best deals, goods & services for our audience - pitch and execute creative ways to package shoppable content, including development and delivery of flat fee articles
• Identify key categories and verticals to test for coverage in consideration of affiliate revenue goals

After 6 months in this role…
• Develop and test new story formats, affiliate-focused shopping packages, and series across platforms
• Use search data, Google trends, cultural events, and affiliate retail sources to inform your product selection
• Assist in reporting performance to gain and share valuable insights

Responsibilities:
• Be an enthusiastic member of the team, continuously offering fresh ideas and pitches you won't find at any other publications
• Help grow and engage an audience that appreciates the VMG take on finding the best products
• Must be available to work during the biggest shopping events including: Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Week
• Brandish a keen, deep understanding of editorial media work, Internet culture, and the Vice brand, reader and voice

You have these:
• 3+ years of relevant writing experience working in related digital editorial and/or commerce content roles
• Enjoy diversified content creation
• Knowledge and deep interest in online shopping
• Knowledge of different affiliate revenue models, including CPA, CPC and flat fee
• Understanding of best SEO practices
• Positive, intuitive/proactive, and collaborative team player

We'd love if you also have these:
• Experience writing about food a plus
• Comfortable and energized working in a fast-paced, high volume operation
• Collaborative and open to feedback in pursuit of constantly pushing content to new heights
• Ready to adapt with an ever-changing environment and industry
