Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the daily scheduling of assigned networks within Showtime Networks. The Supervisor, Interstitial Planning will work with the Vice President, the Director, and Senior Manager, Interstitial Scheduling to plan, develop and implement on-air media plans, and optimize the promotional message across both linear and alternative platforms.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scheduling

Schedule and oversee promotional elements for assigned network(s). Track and monitor all programming changes as it relates to specific networks. Complete daily reconciliation of both programs and promotional elements. Provide VP with periodic air checks of networks for review.

Promo Creation and Traffic

Meet with partner departments to help determine promotional priorities for the month. Create and input codes for new promotional elements via IBMS. Assist with tracking and monitoring progress of spot production, and review all completed spots for assigned networks.

In conjunction with VP, work on alternative promotional activity for assigned network(s). Screen titles, coordinate spots and commission voice over credits, promotion over credits and bugs on an as-needed basis.
On-Air Media Plans

Provide in-depth analysis of on air media to VP and Managers. Analyses include weekly, monthly and annual reports, weekly summary documents, monthly planning documents, quarterly media planning charts, annual media blueprints and post analysis.

Testing and Maintenance of Software

Identify software issues, and work closely with the Director, Interstitial Scheduling Operations and Technology to open change requests with IT to improve functionality of the software. Periodically test all IBMS enhancements and bug fixes as they are applied to both the test and production environments.

DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Supervisor, Interstitial Planning and Scheduling will determine promotional priorities for the month and execute accordingly. The Supervisor must be available 24/7 to address Operational issues as they arise, and resolve in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Job Knowledge: Requires a strong knowledge of the Interstitial On-Air process and environment, including Media Plans. Requires knowledge and understanding of the IBMS scheduling software system (or similar system) along with the ability to develop and implement media presentations utilizing Final Cut, Power Point, Excel and Word. This position must interface and collaborate with an Internal Scheduling department and concurrently with Red Group (Creative Group), Traffic, Network Operations, Post Production Services, Programming, Promotions, New Media, Off Air Media, Marketing and the IBMS/IT departments.

Communication Skills: Requires excellent proficiency in verbal and written communications. Interpersonal skills are essential to the success of this position as they will work closely with partners.

Flexibility: Must be able to adapt to last minute changes in schedules and delivery, including working beyond regular hours. Must be able to switch priorities according to the needs of the network and management. In addition, must be prepared for contingencies in the event that promotional materials do not deliver as expected or in the case of emergency situations.

Managerial Skills: Must be able to coordinate with various departments and individuals in a high pressured, rapidly changing environment. Essential to the success of this position is the collaboration with various sister departments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Undergraduate college degree is preferred with a minimum of 3-5 years experience working in On-Air Promotions, Media Planning, Programming, Agency Traffic and/or Operations.
