Role Details:

The Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer will be primarily responsible for contributing to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications, based on specific product requirement specifications. The Engineer will work with the product development team, in a fun and fast-paced media-centric agile environment. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for making recommendations to improve the user experience of ComicBook.com and Popculture.com

Your Day-to-Day:

Work closely with Product Managers and Technical Teams to understand the needs of the business and deliver world-class class products to a passionate user base.

Work in a fast-paced AGILE environment. This should be second nature (TDD, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) with evolutionary architecture and prototyping, experience with various databases and configuration/deployment/testing solutions.

Perform hands-on participation in team coding, developing interfaces for web applications, services and future technology.

Review developers' code, provide feedback, and develop team knowledge.

Collaborate with technical and business resources, gathering and documenting requirements and formulating action plans.

Present designs and plans to executive management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Projects:

Newsletter product revamp where fans will receive newsletter for specific content they have chosen

Migrate our servers from cloud instances to Docker

Build APIs to support new front-end technologies

Continue to build on database of movies, tv-shows, actors and characters

Build user engagement through features such as reviews, comments, and custom content feeds

Integration with new CMS product

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:

You have –

BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience

Minimum of 5 years of PHP experience, and you've worked with some type of PHP framework Symfony, Larvel, Phalcon etc

Minimum 3 years experience with Sql database design, optimization, and queries

Minimum of 2 years of core JavaScript experience and familiarity with popular frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue etc

Minimum of 2 years of experience building UI/UX from the ground up based on designs provided

Excellence in problem solving, strategic thinking, and working in a team-oriented environment

Experience developing and using web-base based APIs

Experience with open source solutions, using and deploying on cloud-based based platforms

You have experience with source control using Git/GitHub

Ability to learn and make use of new technologies

Strong initiative and the ability for creative thinking for product development with the ability to work in a collaborative, innovative, agile and team-oriented environment

Exceptional attention to detail, you think of and notice the smallest details and edge cases in development

Experience diagnosing and solving performance bottlenecks from client side browser issues, to database queries and everything in between
