Director, Product Management - iOS & Android Media App (Remote)

OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:

You are a product visionary in mobile development with confidence in crafting go to market strategies for Android and iOS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for generating the app product strategy over the next 5 years. Constantly evaluating the four quarter roadmap and solving competing priorities. Actively leading bi-weekly sprint cycles and organizing backlogs that will cover the following areas of business:
• Consistently evangelize product vision, strategy and motivate the mobile team to deliver on a shared vision.
• Ownership of the mobile application roadmap.
• Ownership of the mobile application RICE (Reach, Impact, Confidence, Effort) prioritization list.
• Key point of contact across CBS Sports Digital evangelizing priorities, aligning stakeholder groups, and the gatekeeper for all intake requests.
• Partner with product leadership to craft YoY mobile strategy that helps us achieve our 5 year product vision.
• Own Objectives & Key Results across mobile application suite
• Develop and manage two product managers in retention strategies within the elements of activation, engagement, and resurrection on the app's core product features. (Watch, Scoring, News, Notifications, & Onboarding)
• Champion CBS Sports customers and advocate for our users across all stakeholder groups with the support of data, research, & business insights. Partner with CBS Market Research and Customer Service to monitor the pulse of our core loyalists.
• Drive core watch experiences for the best live sports streaming events offered across the web that include The Masters, SEC, NFL, NCAA College Basketball, and UEFA Champions League.
• With legal sports betting expanding across the nation, it's an exciting time in sports business with significant growth opportunities. Some of these initiatives for sports betting include tools, subscriptions, free-to-play games, content, ad integrations and more. Synthesize these tools to integrate in the iOS & Android applications for gambling enthusiasts.
• Be the connective tissue for all of CBS Sports media with the data technology team. Your first data priority will be enriching the iOS and Android apps with unique data insights and streamlining sports media requests with data technology. Evangelizing the data insights developed in app across media team (web and video) to ensure parity and guidance to the other platforms.
• Create a culture of experimentation with a foundation of data-driven test that generate actionable results.
• Drive data consistency across all our platforms. The analytics we show are as important as the words we write. Naming conventions & data points need to be the same across every experience and you will be our eye in the sky holding us to it.
• Advocate for our core gambling and fantasy audience across all services. Constantly evaluate how the current CBS Sports ecosystem can improve with richer data sets.
• Partner with third party data providers to minimize failures and concept creative solutions to fallback on when service is jeopardized.

WHAT YOU BRING:
• 7+ years of Product Management experience
• 4 + years working on consumer-facing mobile experiences
• 2 + years experience as a people manager
• Strong experience analyzing data to generate product hypothesis.
• Strong history running mobile notification strategies, best in class onboarding practices, and marketing campaigns through developed engagement ladders (user flows).
• The desire to push your analytic skills that will feed into a large sports growth strategy grounded in the frameworks of retention, activation, engagement, churn and resurrection.
• Background in driving multiple A/B tests simultaneously across customer segments to validate hypotheses.
• Subject matter expertise in all things iOS & Android. Fully aware of the latest phone rumors and personal opinions on where the market is going in the next 5 to 10 years.
• Strong beliefs, loosely held; with a willingness to defend your product decisions yet also have your opinion changed.
• You have the ability to communicate product decisions clearly and effectively across all functions and levels.
• Desire or experience collaborating, iterating, and testing with Design and Engineering to discover the solutions that exceed user expectations.

We span multiple brands under the CBS Sports umbrella including Max Preps, 24/7 Sports, Sportsline, Sports HQ & Fantasy. We believe product is the linchpin across all departments uniting the team and translating departmental nomenclature into one universal language that bonds our groups together. User research is at the center of everything we push and work tirelessly to continually improve our understanding of CBS Sports users.
