About Us:

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) is comprised of both digital and physical distribution businesses, overseeing the sales and operations for digital transactional film and television content including PVOD, PEST, EST, and VOD for Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Illumination, DreamWorks Animation, and independent studios, as well as physical DVD and Blu-Ray product sales in multiple international markets.
Overview:

The role is part of the head-office Controllership function located in Universal City, Los Angeles. It resides with global home entertainment.

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the key worldwide quarter close and financial reporting processes, foreign exchange reporting, daily distribution feed, and master data maintenance. This person would have an accounting or finance degree. The person should have strong technical knowledge with a desire to obtain the CPA designation. A qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and balance priorities on competing initiatives. This position reports to the Manager of Global Controllership, supports the Global Controller, and will work closely with the FP&A team and international subsidiaries.

Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Controllership team with monthly and quarterly closing processes, preparation of journal entries, partner reporting, and corporate data requests. This includes working closely with our Operating Companies, both domestic and international.
• Analyze movements in key balance sheet areas including preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet review packages.
• Managing ad hoc requests across various businesses including, but not limited to, Domestic Digital and Participations and Residuals.
• Assist with analysis of quarterly policy reviews which includes returns rates, obsolescence, and delivery lag by working closely with international teams and territories.
• Working closely with the Film HQ Controllership team and international business teams to drive simplification, process improvement, and standardization across the group.
• Monitor daily distribution feeds across all OpCos and, when necessary, collaborate with Operating Companies and IT to identify error resolution.
• Coordinate with Operating Companies (both domestic and international) to ensure the timely completion of reconciliations for the respective monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.

Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, California.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Desired Characteristics
• Excellent Excel skills: financial analytical skills are essential.
• Experience in media/entertainment is desired.
• Knowledge of Business Warehouse / SAP a significant advantage.
• Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and high standards in quality and accurate reporting.
• Strong candidates will be well-organized and able to prioritize multiple and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills and a proactive approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment.

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
