Responsibilities
Role
The Manager of Production & Franchise Management will be instrumental in managing, maximizing and coordinating the activities of all business units for Universal Monsters properties during the film window as well as helping maintain the brand value and needs on an on-going basis.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Liaise with various divisions and departments focusing on overall Franchise Strategy of Universal's Monster properties, including but not limited to technology, consumer products, games, digital marketing, and theme parks.
• This includes reviewing materials to ensure adherence to creative direction of narrative across the Universal Monster brand & suggesting new direction and fixes as necessary and providing support for products in other lines of business.
• Participate in creative meetings involving the franchise strategy team, executives, and key creative leadership teams in all areas of the business.
• Support the development of ancillary projects as necessary across Universal's film brands (ex: DreamWorks Animation TV project: Baby Monsters)
• Responsible for reading/reviewing material and providing direction for multiple projects in development across all platforms: film, animation, publishing, games, parks
• Work with legal and licensing teams on approvals and clearances as it pertains to Universal Monster activations
• Manage asset delivery from our Archives and Collections team to various external partners as it relates to specific monster projects
• Work with executives to create and develop new ideas: cover film, publishing, news, the internet and other media to generate ideas for film, and contribute on an on-going basis to the development process.
• Field pitches, identify trends, and support the strategic development goals for the Monsters department under the Executive in Charge
• Develop and grow existing and new relationships with talent, as well as management companies and talent agencies in order to find new writers, artists, directors, producers; and to source new projects
• Generate notes and lists to support development.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Passionate about film and entertainment marketing
• Self-starter with strong sense of ownership, urgency and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and high work volume while meeting deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
