Universal Music Group (UMG) currently has an opening for a Senior Staff Accountant position within its Central Accounting Services division. This position supports the Joint Venture and Participations reporting cycle within UMG's record label division. The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years of frontline general ledger and/or royalty reporting experience and possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; a CPA is a plus.

How you'll CREATE:
In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a broad array of accounting, analysis and reporting activities, including but not limited to:
• Drafting internal financial reports and supporting analytics for label's high profile third-party joint ventures.
• Preparing journal entries to true up General Ledger to JV statements using SAP.
• Supporting special project and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with preparing and/or providing information required for JVA audits.
• Work with management to prepare additional back up in response to Third Party inquiries.
• Prepare JVA statements and supporting schedules to ensure statement is prepared in accordance with contractual terms of the deal and within the due dates specified in the contract.
• Prior exposure to 3rd Party agreements.
• Maintain strong working inter-divisional relationships with members of the Accounting, Label, and Legal departments, as well as 3rd party statement recipients.
Bring your VIBE:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance a must, CPA preferred
• More than 3 years of broad general ledger accounting or corporate reporting experience
• Experience with SAP or similar general ledger applications
• Strong Excel & Word skills required
• Music or Entertainment industry experience a plus
• Strong analytical skills required; along with attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills
• Authorized to work in the US.
