Job Description
The Universal Music Group Global Control Assurance Department is a recently created team comprised of in-house professionals located at UMG's Corporate Headquarters in Hilversum, the Netherlands. The department reports to the Global Head of Internal Audit and Control Assurance and is responsible for identifying risks and establishing the best practice of financial controls to be integrated/adopted by the Operating Companies in their processes. Independently monitoring and assessing operational effectiveness of the controls including the testing and verification of the controls by the Operating Companies. Provide advice and consultative services to Operating Companies and key management leaders in identifying risks and devising mitigation strategies. In their role, team members acquire a strong knowledge of the group, its activities and operations which place them in a strong position to evolve into internal finance management positions in the future.

How you'll CREATE:
• Participate in the planning and scoping of annual Global Control Assurance Program
• Develop and enhance work programs related to the evaluation of entity and process-level controls
• Develop and update process narratives and related controls documentation
• Develop, optimize, and execute test plans to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls
• Work efficiently and effectively and deliver high quality audit workpapers and audit recommendations.
• Draft deficiency reporting and presentations
• Follow-up on identified findings and deficiencies
• Identify process improvement opportunities
• Contribute to the enhancement of annual Global Control Assurance Program and tools
• Participate in ad-hoc operational and financial projects, new initiatives as requested by management
• Contribute to the positive and team-oriented culture by maintaining cooperative and collaborative relationships (assisting other teams when necessary), facilitating the resolution of conflicts, sharing information, and accepting and providing feedback.

This position is ideally suited for an individual who is detail oriented and driven by growth and change. This individual should be extremely analytical, highly organized, have excellent time management skills and strong relationship management capabilities. Other qualifications include:
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities
• Preferred Qualifications: CPA or CIA
• A minimum of 5 years of financial / operational audit and SOX experience from top public accounting firm or Internal Audit, preferably with experience in the Technology, Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment industry
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of accounting, finance and internal control areas is required, as is comprehension of internal auditing standards, generally accepted accounting principles, SOX, COSO and risk-assessment practices.
• In-depth knowledge of business processes, as well as process controls and risks, and an understanding of how this relates to relevant audit procedures
• Solid business acumen
• Possess strong project management abilities as well as verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels within the organization
• Ability to lead change and have experience working in a fluid, changing environment
• Possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusion and solve problems
• Highly proficient in MS Office Suite to intermediate (Excel, Power Point, Word) and Visio
• Experience with SAP ERP, BPC, MetricStream and Hyperion FM is a plus
• Multilingual: Fluent English. Another language is an advantage ( is highly desirable)
• Ability to travel internationally and work independently
• Remote WFH with quarterly visits to US Corporate Office in Santa Monica. (Remote WFH is subject to change)
