Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Commercial Manager is responsible for driving the physical and catalogue strategy of singles and albums across the 0207 roster.

Working closely with the marketing, digital and A&R team their knowledge and expertise will help shape the strategy of the label and campaign techniques.

A key part of the role is managing the relationships with our retail partners; pitching, negotiating and reporting key information to build the best retail strategies for our artists.

The Commercial Manager will need to have a keen eye for data and analytics. It is their responsibility to forecast chart & streaming numbers across several campaigns as well as reporting back to the label on key market trends and how these can affect our release strategies and A&R decisions.

Innovative and creative thinking, paired with intimate knowledge of the market is required to drive industry-leading retail campaigns.

The B-Side: Skills & Experience

Be Organised
• Management of retail market for the 0207 roster including catalogue, working together with the Head of Marketing, Streaming Lead, marketing & digital teams, managers and external retail partners
• Helping to break new acts into the UK & international markets, through daily communication with retail partners and internal teams
• Staying on top of market, chart and streaming trends along with reporting back to the business with findings
• Managing the commercial day to day requirements of the catalogue portfolio, working closely with the Head of Marketing and MD

Be Analytical
• Closely monitoring data and performance of our artists' projects noticing and reporting back trends within our campaign
• Deep understanding of the physical and retail landscape and data behind it
• Knowledge of chart reporting and forecasting of the chart
• Aware of market trends and their effect on our campaigns

Be Collaborative
• Working closely with the entire 0207 team, managers and regularly communicating key marketing information and targets to internal and external partners
• Identifying a project's strengths and weaknesses from a streaming and commercial perspective and communicating with senior management and stakeholders
• Forging strong working relationships with retailers (UK & international), artist management, colleagues and relevant territories across the Universal business
• Working closely with the marketing & digital team to assist in the execution of the campaigns

Be A Great Communicator
• Daily communication with our retail partners keeping them updated with the important information from our roster
• Daily communication with the internal teams on campaigns; reporting on the strengths and communicating the areas for improvements
• Presenting to the team with data, findings and new techniques we should be aware of and apply to our campaigns

Person Specification
• Experience at a Physical Commercial Manager level with a deep understanding of the retail market and key players within it
• Excellent chart & streaming forecasting skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with an awareness of cultural sensitivities
• Proven inquisitive and tenacious nature, ability to find the latest, most effective techniques to strategically enhance projects
• Ability to present strategies and techniques to a group of people in an engaging manner
• Experience analysing, interpreting and acting upon all the relevant data and insight around an artists' commercial performance
• Highly creative & innovative thinker. Proven experience of identifying and developing positive strategic opportunities, suggesting alternative approaches and coming up with new ideas
• Established relationship-building and management skills with the ability to deal with creative individuals with tact and diplomacy. Persuasive and influential when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• Successful experience in negotiating with high profile characters (artist management, external stakeholders and senior management)
