Job Description

Located within the Regional European Administration department which is a satellite of our wider Global Administration organisation, this new role will support our UK and European local offices as they take on new catalogs, particularly administration deals including those with our media-rights partners.

There will be a focus on the implementation of the catalogs in our system, oversite of registration activities and the ongoing delivery of any special service commitments. Ultimately this role is about ensuring Universal is delivering quality administration services to our partners and will collaborate closely with local and international staff to ensure our commitments are met and exceeded.

The successful applicant will be supported by a friendly, knowledgeable team in London as well as by our Global Administration team located in Nashville, TN.

Skills & Experience

Be Knowledgeable
• Responsible for supporting the take-on and implementation of nominated key catalogs in the UMPG system
• Catalog transition management and the ongoing delivery of contractual commitments, including the preparation of client service packs and narrating these for clients in calls and meetings
• Responsible for end to end Copyright value chain from song delivery, loading into our Administration platform, through to registration across our global network of office and associated PRO's
• The maintenance of song data within our Copyright & Royalty system, ensuring that the data is accurate and complies with UMPG data standards and controls

Be Collaborative
• Client facing point person for Copyright delivery, research, implementation, and query management
• Point person for catalogue-based royalty research and queries
• Liaise with collecting societies on transitional issues
• Liaise and communicate across all Administration business units (Royalties, Copyright, Royalty Review) and Business Affairs

Person Specification

Necessary

This is broad, client facing role requires a highly organised and motivated individual with general Music Publishing administration experience, an affinity for working with datasets and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous Copyright and/or Royalty administration experience with a music publishing company or collecting society
• Familiarity with the operational idiosyncrasies of different repertoires particularly audio-visual and production music
• A track-record of delivering customer service
• A data hero! Excellent analytical skills including Excel and/or SQL or equivalent skills
• Familiarity with music publishing agreements and associated terminology
• Experience of inputting song data into a Copyright platform along with an understanding of song and agreement registration procedures (CWR and CAF)
• Well-organised with good attention to detail
• A team player with the ability to use initiative when required
• Effective communication skills
• Able to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
• An aptitude for logical thinking and problem solving
• Good understanding of the workings of collection societies worldwide
• Experience of registration or works and agreements with the PRS for Music
