The Job

WarnerMedia seeks a Sr QA Analyst for the Ad Sales department. The television industry is undergoing an exciting and radical shift in the way our fans consume our content. Consumers want to view content wherever and whenever they like, on whatever screen they have, be it a mobile phone, tablet, computer, or traditional television. In responding to this challenge, we are completely rethinking the way we produce, provide, and sell content and advertising to our viewers, fans, and advertisers. The Senior QA Analyst verifies the quality of WarnerMedia's custom developed software applications in meeting these customer needs. In this role, you will be working in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, supporting WarnerMedia's Ad Sales applications as we continue our journey to reimagine television. You'll be working with leading-edge technologies, helping to develop and test applications that drive WarnerMedia's advertising business across all our award-winning brands, including CNN, HBO, HBO Max, Cinemax, TBS, TNT, TruTV, Cartoon Network, and Adult Swim.

The Daily
• Develop a thorough understanding of the project team's business domain by participating in project planning sessions, user story reviews and design sessions
• Analyze complex functional requirements and translate them into test cases (automated and/or manual, as appropriate)
• Lead and participate in test case peer reviews with BAs, Developers, QA and other team members
• Execute test plans, including functional, system, regression, performance, service layer, API, and database layer
• Record, log, and retest defect fixes
• Execute and maintain automated tests to facilitate unattended test execution, handle test errors, and report test results
• Participate in and coordinate user acceptance test planning with the project team
• Establish appropriate hardware and software environments for testing
• Follow appropriate release management processes to adhere migration standards. Responsible for the final verification of migration requests to ensure compliance processes (i.e. SOX, as required)
• Participate in migration meetings to coordinate production releases
• Perform production release smoke testing
• Perform post-implementation testing of production issues as required
• Participate in project estimation and sizing/velocity efforts
• Provide test metrics to the project team as required
• Recommend, develop, and communicate quality assurance processes and procedures

The Essentials
• At least 7 years' experience in software development as a software tester / test engineer
• Basic understanding of data analysis techniques and both relational/non-relational databases
• Experience writing basic SQL and NoSQL statements for use in data validation
• Solid understanding of Agile software development processes
• Demonstrated ability to write, execute and maintain automated tests in a modern framework
• Experience working in multi-tiered Dev/Test/Prod environments
• Demonstrated experience in the development of QA process and procedures
• Ability to successfully perform the QA role across multiple, complex system implementations with custom and third-party applications
• Experience with test management and defect tracking systems such as Visual Studio, Jira, TestRail, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of Windows and macOS platforms

The Nice to Haves
• Functional experience with one or more television broadcast industry applications
• Experience with cloud architecture, Amazon Web Services (AWS), server-less architecture, and associated configuration management tools
• Experience in one or more open source or commercial test automation technologies
• Certification in testing tools or testing skills
• BS in Computer Science, MIS, business, or equivalent work experience
