Your New Role
Sr. Manager focusing on the reporting and analysis of legacy WarnerMedia (primarily Consolidated results, legacy Turner and legacy Corporate). Consolidated Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures for inclusion in the Warner Bros. Discovery quarterly and annual SEC filings ensuring results are in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Works with the Controllership groups to ensure adequate explanation of submitted results, communicate reporting requirements to internal partners and to obtain alignment on process efficiencies.
Your Role Accountabilities
Team Management
• Manages team of two: Manager and Sr. Analyst; including determination of work allocation, setting deadlines, review of deliverables and employee development
Reporting and Analysis
• Manages monthly review of Consolidated and legacy WarnerMedia Corporate P&Ls, question unusual activity, investigate large variances and resolution follow-up on previously identified issues
• Responsible for oversight and review of preparation/presentation of monthly deliverables to executives, including reports and analysis (review books) for legacy Turner and legacy WarnerMedia Corporate
• Work in multiple GL/Consolidation systems to report results, including researching and reconciliation of data in legacy GL and WarnerMedia financial consolidation tool
• Serves as Adjusting Items (Normalization) reporting expert across legacy WarnerMedia, including review of submissions for alignment with WBD policies, tracking/reporting of requested and approved items, completion of footnote for external reporting and communication between the affected groups
• Review of footnote schedules prepared by team prior to submission to WBD external reporting; preparation of more complex footnote schedules
• Manage research and response to management inquiries/requests for data and analysis spanning multiple areas
Process Management
• Manage the overall footnote process, including tracking to ensure the timely completion and accuracy of multiple reporting schedules for WBD external reporting, gathering and communicating requirements, assist with internal guidance as needed
• Manage audit and SOX processes, including preparing and coordinating consolidated reporting requests for all of legacy WarnerMedia, submissions of data to various auditor platforms and tracking of requests across CFR to ensure timely responses
• Manage monthly P&L account mapping from PeopleSoft to WarnerMedia Consolidation to ensure consistency across WBD, including compliance with SOX related process requirements; assist with master data approval process for GL Accounts and FS Items
• Lead other key projects and initiatives impacting reporting; collaborate with internal/external customers, business partners and peers to drive efficiencies in processes and effectively meet deliverables
Special Projects/Other
• Lead or participate in other key projects and initiatives, including ad hoc reporting/analysis and working on cross-divisional initiatives, as required
• Provide assistance/support to other areas within Consolidated Financial Reporting as needed
Qualifications & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance
• Previous experience managing people
• Experience with SAP/BW, PeopleSoft or other large ERP system
• Extensive experience with Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, macros
• Variance analysis and reporting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA required
• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet routine and non-routine deadlines
• High degree of motivation to deliver a quality product
• Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Competent in preparing presentation quality documents and executive level summaries
• High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation
