The Job

We're looking for a Designer to join our NCAA Digital Design team. As a Designer at NCAA Digital, you'll have the opportunity to work on a large portfolio of digital sports products and services that includes NCAA.com, the NCAA Sports App and Emmy Award-winning March Madness Live with its suite of products across 17 platforms.
Our Design Team represents the best interests of the fan while supporting the direction, vision, and methodology used to create unique and cutting edge experiences across multiple digital platforms – web, mobile, connected devices, wearables, and emerging media. As a Designer, you'll get the chance to innovate, ideate and execute designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, design, research, editorial, multimedia, engineering, and program management. The Daily
• Demonstrate understanding and skill in layout, typography, and visual hierarchy; embody thoughtful design
• Show proficiency in a variety of design-related software programs such as Sketch, InVision, Abstract, Zeplin, and the Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of HTML-5 and the ability to create motion graphics a plus
• Strong compositing, photo editing, illustration skills
• Knowledge of platform UX/UI standards (iOS, Android, Connected devices)
• Possess strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
• Present and defend work in front of a group
• Work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment while consistently meeting deadlines
• Help execute all phases of the design process-from whiteboarding and incorporating research findings, to designing visuals and completing the handoff to developers
• Follow existing Visual/UX patterns and style guides, balancing them with platform-specific patterns to ensure a consistent experience across all platforms
• Work closely with UX, Product, and Development teams to ensure a high-quality user experience and design implementation
• Prototype wires and/or product designs for pitches
• Create high-level Keynote presentations for upper management as needed
• Assist in asset production, working closely with Development team
• Assist Editorial team creating visuals and motion graphics for their content

The Essentials
• 1-5+ years of experience in digital product design
• A portfolio demonstrating strong UX and visual design solutions to real-world business cases
• A passion for design, and intense motivation to learn and grow
• A passion for sports; basketball a plus
